I just wanted to quickly thank you guys for 2k reads☺️ I know it's not much but it means a lot to me!!!-------------------------------------------------------
My naturally curly hair was washed, blown out and straightened. The stylist, who's name I found out was carlyn, used a curling wand to spiral curl my hair and pinned it up.
She finished my hair and went to the back of the salon and my nerves finally calmed down. I hated when other people straightened my hair, they didn't give a f*ck how closed they got to your scalp and they didn't care if they burned you. Surprisingly this stylist was different, she took her time and didn't burn me.
The stylist came back with a make up box. I looked at her confused when she came over to me with it.
"What's all this for?" I asked out loud unintentionally.
"Your mom wanted me to do your make up." She said as she smiled.
"Make up? She knows I hate heavy make up."
She giggled "I understand, that's why she told me not to tell you about it."
I rolled my eyes "wow."
"This is just practice make up for homecoming, I promise I won't over do it."
"Ok fine." I said as I folded my arms.

I sat in the chair for another hour and a half. I never understood what took so long when it came to makeup and why did every little detail have to be perfect and if this wasn't "over doing it" just imagine what over doing it is.
"Alright beautiful, I'm done." She smiled.
She handed me a mirror. When I looked it in I could've swear I was looking at a different person.
"Whoa. How did you do this? I look like a different person." I said shocked and kinda impressed.
"A good artist never gives away her secrets." She said in a cocky tone.
"This is crazy.." I felt this suddenly feeling of confidence. I see why people get so addicted to make up.
In that same moment my mom walked into the salon. She put her hand over her mouth and gasped.
"Aww look at my baby!" She said as a few tears fell from her eyes. "You look so beautiful!"
I rolled my eyes, she was so dramatic.
"Mom can you pay the stylist so we can leave! My butt hurts," I groaned.
My mom laughed and wiped her tears and handed the stylist the money. "Thank you so much."
I got out of the chair "so can we go home now?"
She laughed "yeah."
We walked out of the salon into the main walkway of the mall.
"Hold on Heaven, don't walk so fast let me take these pins out of your hair." My mom said.
"Why are you taking the pins out?" I asked getting a bit irritated.
"Just trust me sweetly." She smiled taking the pins out and letting my curls fall.
She ran her fingers through my hair "okay let's go." She said.
As we walked towards the exit of the mall, rose petals were aligned to the door. I looked up at the exit and saw someone holding a huge sign up with what looked like a dozen roses in their hand that said
"Roses are red violets are blue I want to be your date, can I go to homecoming with you"
"Aww ma look, I never seen one of those homecoming proposals in person before." I said to her.
She smiled "let's go see it up close."
We both walked to closer to the sign and I noticed the people standing around had their phones out recording.
They were all recording me..
I looked at the person holding the sign and it was .. Omar.
I smiled and my legs began to feel like jello. I walked slowly over to him.
"Walk faster." My mom smiled as she pushed me.
When I finally got to him my initial reaction was to hug him and I did. He handed the sign to my mom and hugged me back.
I let go and looked at him "all this for me?" I asked
He smiled "of course, you know you deserve it."
I feel my cheeks began to turn red "Why did you do this? You were already going to homecoming with me." I said
He smiled "I wanted to ask you properly."
I hugged him tightly and he kissed me on the cheek.
~*~
When I got home I put my flowers in a vase.
I smiled as I looked at them. No one has ever done something like that for me before. I touched one of the roses, reminiscing that moment.
A pair of arms wrapped around my waist. The cologne filled my nose and I knew exactly who it was. I turned around "why did you do all of this for me?" I asked.
"Like I said before, you deserve it." Omar said planting another kiss on my cheek.
I blushed "thank you."
"No problem but I got another question."
"What is it?" I asked
"I know I asked you this before already but I promise you I can make you happy."
"What?"
"Will you be my girlfriend?" He asked.
I thought about it, I still think it's too early but as much as I wanted to resist Omar how could I? He's made me the happiest I've ever been in months.
I looked in his eyes. "Yes. I will be your girlfriend." I said
He smiled and wrapped his arms tighter around my waist as he pulled me close to him. I wrapped my arms around his neck.
"But, I can't be with you if you're going to keep things from me." I told him.
He pulled away from me "whatchu mean?"
"You know what I mean, about you and lucky."
He sighed "yeah that, come sit down, and I'll tell you the whole story and whatever else you want to know."
"okay." I said as I followed him to the couch.
"Can I get a kiss?"
I smirked "after you tell me what you have to tell me."
He chuckled "I'll take that for now."
