The First Camp Fire,
We walked down the deck stair’s and over towards the fire pit. I ducked down and backed out of Ethan’s arm and ran over to where all the chairs were. I grabbed everyones folding chair’s, my purple one, Ethan’s green one, Ryan’s blue one, Andrew’s yellow, Ben’s orange one, my mom and Debora’s pink ones, and my dad and Adam’s red one’s, then went back over to the fire pit.
I set them all down and started to laugh at how Ethan couldn’t start a fire.
“Let me see it! I can do it!” He smiled and handed it off to me. I squatted down and set the paper on the logs that where already there. I took the lighter from Ethan and lit the paper. I got a twig and made it catch on fire. I put it on top of all the other papers and stuff. I got up and sat back. I watched as it all caught, I was so proud of my self.
“That’s not fair! How did you do that!” I turned to look at Ethan how was sitting in his chair pouting.
“Oh grown up Ethan. I’ll teach you some other time.” I smiled and played with a stick I had picked up. Ryan had come and sat, putting his chair next to mine, when I had gotten up. We waited till all the adults came down.
Once we all were down sitting by the fire my mom asked Ryan something, “So Ryan, I heard you have been teaching yourself to play guitar. Can you play?”
“Uh, yeah. I can play a lot. I honesty . . . kind of brought it with me,” He seem nervous. He wasn’t sure of his words. He seemed draw back when my mom got really excited.
“Really! Oh my! You have to play something for us!”
“Uh...I’m not sure...I don’t think I’m that good...”
This time I stepped in, “Liar! You played every night till I fell asleep. At least for a while you did away.” He looked over at me glaring.
“How about you not say anymore about are late night talks till you fell asleep.”
“Fine, but I think you should play a song.”
He smiled. I knew he wanted to. He slowly got up and walked inside. I honestly didn’t know he brought it. I didn’t see his guitar case or anything. I heard the door open and I turned my head. He walked back over to his chair putting his case in front of the two of us. He unzipped it and pulled out his guitar.
He pulled it up on to his lap and strung all the cords. He mumbled ‘good’ to him self. I looked up at his face as he talked.
“This first song I’m gonna play, and or sing, is one I have been playing for a long time.” He looked down getting his hands in the right places and then back up.
“Yeahh . . . Yeah, yeah. I’m no super man, I can’t your hand, and fly you any were you wanna go. Yeah. I can’t read your mind, like a billboard sign, and tell you ever thing you wanna hear, But I’ll be . . . Your hero . . . ‘Cause I, I can be everything you need, If your the one for me, Like gravity I’ll be unstoppable. I, yeah, I believe in destine. I may an ordinary guy with heart and soul . . . but if your the one for me, I’ll be your hero . . . Ohhhh. I’ll be your hero. Yeahh. I’ll be your hero...So incredible, some kind of miracle, So when it’s meant to be, I’ll be come a hero, oh, So I’ll wait, wait, wait, wait for yooooouuu! I’ll be your hero . . . but, yeeaahhh. ‘Cause I, I can everything you need, if your the one for me, Like gravity I’ll be unstoppable. I yeah I believe in destine. I may be an ordinary guy with heart and soul . . . but if your the one for me . . . I’ll be your hero. Yeeaahhh. Yeah I’ll be your hero. Yeeaahhh. I’ll be your heroo . . . Hero,”
