Part 1.
I sighed and stood up. I wasn’t ready for this at all. I walked as slow as I possibly could with Austin following behind me. I saw Ryan standing with all his guy friends catching up and talking. Oh god. I hated his guy friends. I couldn’t stand them. I looked down at sand and counted to walk.
Once I was about 5 feet away from him I looked up.
“Hey Ryan. Can ya come over here?” I called out.
He turned his head. “What?”
“Can ya...come over here?” I asked again.
“Uh, sure?”
He told his friends he would be back it looked like and walked over towards me. Once he got over to me he looked me up and down then behind me. “Who’s that?” He whispered.
“Austin. No body important.”
“Oh, okay. So what do you need.”
“I want to say sorry.”
He waited for more.
“I’m, sorry I was a jerk, I didn’t mean to seem mad. When I said, ‘sure’ I was being sarcastic. I had a wonderful day with you, honestly. So, I didn’t mean I had a bad day with you, I though you knew I was kidding. Then you like, I don’t know, blew up and I didn’t know what to do so I just blew up too and I didn’t even know I was saying. I’m just, sorry.”
“Well, I forgive you then. You could have told me you were kidding but it’s okay.”
I half smiled.
He did a full smile and pulled me in for a hug. He put his arms around my neck and I put mine around his waist. I lifted my head so I was kind of looking up at him, “I really am sorry you know.”
“I know, and I really do forgive.”
“Thanks,”
We both pulled away and he looked up at me, “You wanna go sit by the fire with my friends?”
“Not really...I don’t really like them...”
“You don’t like my friends?”
“No, I don’t. You act different around them then when your with me.”
“Really?”
“Yeah, you do, and it bugs me.”
“So what would you like to do?”
“Sit by the fire.”
“With who ever that is?”
“You too.”
“Me?”
“Yes,”
“Okay, then lets go. Let me just tell my friends I’m gonna go hang out with you. Okay?”
“Okay.”
He walked back over to his friends and gave them all ‘bro hugs’ then came back over to me. He wrapped his arm around my back and began to walk. Austin joined.
“So who this buddy?” Ryan asked kind of pointing at Austin.
“It’s Austin, I guess we met last year or something and then he saw me, and I walked over to him.”
