Lauren Holiday x Morgan Brian

Breath Lauren, breath. Thought the former professional soccer player. She looked down at the small child attached to her breast. The past few weeks have been nothing but hell. First that cute little devil was born, brain surgery was completed, recovery from surgery and to top it off Morgan got a concussion. Sighing Lauren stroked her little girl's hair. It was already curly like her's. "Jrue, put water in Paige's baby tub. And you have bath duty today." She gently detached Paige from her breast, then cradling her in her arms. Lauren could hear the dripping of water into the baby bath tub. Soon enough Jrue appeared and took his daughter. She gave him a smile before getting up.

Morgan stared at the beige wall. Nothing was going through her mind. Everything was still. She picked at a turf burn scab, needing some form of entertainment. Her concussion caused her to completely loose her ability to speak. Which angered her a bit. "Hey Bean," Lauren's voice was calming for Morgan. Once the elder woman came into sight she gave a small wave. She grabbed her tablet to speak to Lauren.

"Hey, Lauren. Thank you so much for letting me stay here." Morgan typed. The choppy voice said it. And made her cringe. She hates the sound, and her face clearly expressed her distaste for it.

Lauren pulled Morgan into a side hug. "No problem, I'm glad you let us help. It takes a real champion to seek out help in times of need." She stroked the younger woman's hair. Almost exactly how she does with Paige. "And I think Paige likes having you here too."

A breathy noise came out instead of a laugh. Morgan smiled fondly at her tablet. She loves being around little Paige. And it warms her heart that the Holidays named the little bundle of joy after her middle name. "I like being around her. And you too."

"Can you try to do something for me?" She asked, a little hesitant.

"Anything for you Cheney."

"Can you try speaking?" Lauren missed hearing Morgan's sweet voice. She missed hearing Moe talk in a childish voice to Paige. She missed hearing her voice after a long night's rest. Lauren just misses her voice. And wishes nothing more than to hear it again.

Morgan set the tablet down on her lap. She took in a deep breath, trying to push out the words. Nothing came out. It was like turf was clogging her throat. Not allowing words to form. Or even allowing them to come out. "I am sorry Cheney."

Her head shook, and curls followed suite. "No, I'm sorry. It's so soon after the incident, I should give you more time." She looked at Morgan lovingly. Lauren thinks of Morgan like a daughter. One that will always be her "little girl". Despite having a child of her own now. She placed a kiss on Morgan's forehead. "I'm going to leave you be. You need rest."

"Goodbye Cheney, and goodnight."

Lauren pushed herself off of the couch. She heard the soft crying of Paige. Groaning she slowly walked up the stairs. Trying to cope with her headache. The former soccer player neared the door, only to stop in her tracks. A shaky, cracked voice was talking.

"P-Paige, plea-eas stop." Short breathing followed. "You'll wa-ake Mama." It was Morgan. After almost three weeks of being mute her voice was heard. All of the turf in her throat crumbled away. Leaving a hole for her words to flow out of.

She pushed open the door. "Moe, you can talk." Lauren sat on the bed next to Morgan. "I am so, so happy for you." She stroked Paige's hair. Which made the crying stop.

"I am t-too." Morgan replied, resting her head on Lauren' s shoulder.
