Allie Long x Julie Johnston
ShipName: Lonston

Julie found herself sitting on a park swing. She felt a million thoughts run through her head. It was crazy, everything in this world is crazy. She pulled her hair back into a tight bun and looked straightforward. There was a soccer field, and she knew damn well what was about to happen.

She picked up her soccer ball and began walking. Julie stopped, and punted the ball onto the field. A smile came to her cracked lips, one that hasn't existed since the USWNT season ended. Her phone buzzed, and she reluctantly pulled it out.

It was a text from someone she used to know. Please, let's talk. I miss you. It read. "If you truly miss me you would call me or even come visit." Julie muttered, sick of his lies. She rolled her eyes as another text pop up. I love you. She let out a loud laugh, not buying it one bit.

"Zack, you have no idea what love is!" Julie shouted, tossing her phone onto the ground. "If you did know anything about love, we would still be together."

Julie picked up her ball and set it on the penalty kick line. She tried her hardest to imagine Hope being in the goal. But ever since her suspension, she has beginning to fade. Barely anyone talks about her anymore and few people have stayed in touch with her. Julie is one that stayed in touch. Actually, the whole Department of Defense has kept in touch with her. They miss their rock.

She looked back up at the goal, and there stood Allie. "How the heck did you get there without me hearing?" Julie asked, her heart racing a bit. Allie shrugged, leaning on a goal post.

"Just wanted to check on my favorite defender." Allie joked, coming over to her a hug. And that's what she got. "So, is Zack still bothering you? I can send Tobin on his ass."

Julie chuckled, thinking of Tobin beating the crap out of Zack. "I'll pass on that." She could help but have a large smile with Allie around. The woman was the sunshine to her rainy day.

Allie looked down at the ball, already guessing what she has been working on. "Penalty kicks? J, I thought you have been avoiding them since the Olympics." She looked at Julie thoughtfully. Allie saw a flicker of sadness run through her amazing blue eyes. She instantly remembered that horrible day.

°Past°
Allie collapsed in front of her locker, too angered and sad to get up. She felt tears sting her eyes like a thousand bees. Her head turned to see Julie like no one has seen her before.

Julie had red cheeks, a tear stained face, and her wild blond hair was out of its pony tail. She was distraught to say the least. And Allie was the only one that didn't think about her own sadness too much. She had a teammate to help, so that's what she'll do.

She pretty much crawled over to Julie. "JJ, what's wrong?" Allie asked in her softest voice. She set her hands on Julie's knees as she tried to look at her eyes. But her hair was covering her beautiful blue eyes.

"I wanted this so badly. Like, when I was a little girl I always said in 2016, I would win an Olympic gold metal. I was teased and bullied because everyone thought I couldn't.

"They would mess with my head, screw me up at soccer games. It was usually verbal ways they hurt me, there was also physical too. I would get my hair pulled, nails dug into my skin, punched, tripped, and the list goes on. I guess they were right. I will never be an Olympic gold medalist." Julie felt empty inside, the kind of empty that she couldn't describe. She brushed her wild hair behind her ears, leaving her eyes visible.

Allie looked into Julie's eyes. The first true flick of sadness she has ever seen in Julie's eyes passed by. "Julie, never say that. You are an amazing player. If you weren't the Christie Rampone wouldn't accept that your the next her." She started, "You have this whole team behind you on ups and downs. Julie, you have me on all of your ups and downs. Just remember that."
°Present°

Julie shrugged, "I just needed to blow off some steam. And, what you said to me that day made me want to try them again." She took in a deep breath as she stood behind the ball.

She backed up a few paces, then ran to it. Julie kicked the ball with all her force. Which sent it into an upper ninety. She turned around to see a shocked Allie. "What?"

"Wow." Was all Allie could say. "No wonder I like you." She added, not caring that it slipped out.

Julie's cheeks went scarlet pretty quickly. "You like me?" She nervously twisted her ring. No woman has ever said that to Julie. But it felt right, in a way, to have being said from Allie.

Allie nodded, pulling Julie closer to her by the wrists. "With every bit of my beating heart." She whispered into Julie's ear. Allie gave her forehead a kiss and placed her arms around Julie's neck.

Her blush went down along with her racing heartbeat. "I can't help but feel the same." Julie replied, wrapping her arms around Allie's waist.
