Ginny's POV
"Ginny, it's okay," Eli cooed in my ear while stroking down my hair. "We're here for you, you don't have to go through this alone.""He's evil, Eli, and I helped him!" I cried harder.
"Ginny, don't worry about it. You weren't in control. Drake, Hermonie and I have done plenty of stupid things while we were actually in control! We'll help you."
"Why would you do that? I'm a Gryffindor," I asked.
"And I'm a Slytherin. So what? We're friends, no one is going to tell me that I can't be friends with certain people because I like green more than red. Who cares what house we're in, that doesn't tell you anything about our personality! Ambition might mean I want to take over the world, or I might try to eat an entire pizza in one sitting. You're Ginny, no one else, and whether you like it or not, we're your friends."
"What do we do?"
"Well first we steal back the book from those idiots before they get hurt," she plopped onto the couch and patted the spot next to her for me. "Then we destroy it. Obviously water won't work, and Hagrid's not on the grounds to help us. If Sev finds out I'm doing something dangerous, he'll tell Moony who will tell Paddy, and I might not come back if that happens. The only other person I think we could ask without consequences is McGonagall."
"Are you mad?" Draco asked. "She hates Slytherin's!"
"No she hates you, and all the other people that think that being in Slytherin makes you automatically better than everyone else," she scolded. "Houses aren't everything. We're supposed to be like family, but Ginny and Hermonie have just as much right to earn being family as anyone else. I'll ask McGonagall how to destroy it after class tomorrow. Ginny, you get the book from the lions and we'll destroy it."
I ran back to the house. I missed Hermonie. Having each other in the house helped us feel less alone. The lions hardly spoke to us, unless to insult us. I snuck up to the boys dormitories and began digging through there things.
I finally wrapped my hands around the book and sprinted away. As I exit the house I saw Harry and Ron pushing each other in. I began walking away, until everything went black.
Eli's POV
"Drake, where is she?""She's fine Eli!"
"She's an hour late," I cracked my knuckles again. "Ginny's never an hour late."
"Maybe she had trouble finding the book?" We turned a corner and we're shocked by what we saw. Writing covered the wall. "Her skeleton will lie in the chamber forever."
"She must have found it and it took over her again. Come on, we have to find her."
"Eli, we don't know where the chamber is!"
"We don't, but Lockhart does! If we force him to let us down there we can save Ginny!"
"And if he wants to join us?"
"It's Lockhart, he's probably already planning his escape," I dragged Drake behind a column as the teachers surrounded the wall.
"As you can see, the Heir of Slytherin has left another message. Our worst fear has been realized. A student has been taken by the monster. Into the Chamber itself. I'm afraid we shall have to send the students home. I'm afraid...this is the end of Hogwarts."
"So sorry. Dozed off. What have I missed?"
"Just the man," Sev said dryly. "A girl has been snatched by the monster, Lockhart. Your moment has come at last."
