P.O.V Pete
I watched Patrick dial up Andy and ask him too.
"Andy? Hey want to come eat Christmas dinner with us? On Christmas day.."
I couldn't hear what Andy was saying but Patrick looked happy so I assumed it was a yes.
"Cool! Okay we'll give you more details nearer the time."
Then he hung up. I guess it's me and Patrick while Elisa does whatever she needs to do.
"Come to the jeweler's with me? I need to pick up the ring." Patrick was already heading out the door before I had answered.
"Well I guess I have to anyway." I groaned, jokingly. "You sure do."
We got into Patrick's car and he drove down to the Jeweler's he bought the ring in. Patrick was telling me all about the ring on the way. "It's beautiful, just like Elisa. I even had a special message put inside for her." I nodded my head and blurted out a "That sounds cool." Patrick looked over at me. "Everything alright Pete?"
"Just lost in thought I guess." I sighed.
"Thinking about?"
"Christmas."
Patrick groaned. "I'm not really excited for Christmas this year, Elisa and I have been trying to get everything sorted and it's terribly stressful." I didn't say anything back this time. I find it a bit annoying how he keeps banging on about Elisa. She's lovely and all but he could change the topic for once.
We pulled into the car park of the jeweler's and Patrick swiftly parked the car. "Coming Pete?" Patrick smiled and opened the car door for me. I stepped out and stood for a few seconds whilst he headed inside. I sighed and kicked a stone across the pavement and headed inside after him.
It was a massive gold and red shop, with caramel brown wooden floors and gold glass cases everywhere. As soon as we walked in the sales clerk rushed over to us. "Ah, Mr Stump! Yes we have your ring ready." The lady was very strictly dressed. Her bun was pinned into extreme neatness to a point where it looked tight and painful and her blazer and skirt was perfectly ironed, no creases anywhere. She gave me a dirty look. "Who might you be?" Patrick looked shocked at the tone of her voice. "I'm Pete Wentz M'am. Patrick here is my best friend." She looked me up and down and then over at Patrick. "Very well, this way Mr Stump. And you." The lady darted her small blue eyes to me and sneered. "Woah, what'd I do?" I whispered to Patrick as she led us into a small room. "Pete it might be the fact that you've left footprints with your muddy boots, or the fact that you haven't shaved, or it could be the fact you look like a punk."
"I am a punk! You're a punk too!" I snapped. He laughed it off and turned his attention to the red velvet box the sales clerk had in her hand. "This is it. You may open it and see if you like it." I looked over Patrick's shoulder as he opened the tiny box. We both gasped. It was pretty sweet. "I love it. I'm sure Elisa will too." I nodded in agreement. "Well in that case I'll get it wrapped up for you. Card or Cash?"
"Cash." Patrick pulled out a few 100 dollar bills. "That'll be $3000 please." I widened my eyes at the price. Patrick however didn't look surprised and handed them to her. "Have a nice day sir." She gave him the ring which was now wrapped up and we left out the door. Not before me giving her the finger of course. She looked appalled but didn't have time to react because I sprinted past Patrick and into the car.
*Just a filler chapter! Sorry, it'll get more interesting soon.*
