P.O.V Patrick
Pete would be round any minute now. I couldn't relax. I'm 29 years old and have butterflies over a guy, you'd think I was in high school. I anxiously fixed myself in the mirror, really trying to look my best. I love Elisa, I shouldn't be thinking about any of this. It's Pete, he was just drunk.
Before I could worry anymore and tell myself that I was insane for thinking he likes me or that I like him Pete knocked at the door. I took a deep breath and flattened out my fringe one last time. I shook myself right before opening the door. Pete looked very tired, hungover I guess. He was wearing black skinny jeans and a plaid shirt. I gave him a warm smile. "Hey, come in. Uh Elisa's asleep so we need to be quiet." He was fidgeting a lot, the way he always does when he's nervous. We sat down on the sofa and sat in silence before Pete decided to say something. "I guess this is about last night, yeah?"
"Yeah, it is. Um, I just wanted to ask-"
"Patrick, it wasn't just.. because I was drunk." In this moment everything slowed down. That's what I always wanted to hear, why the hell wasn't I happy? Elisa, she's my wife.. I feel like I've betrayed her. But there's a part of me who wanted to kiss Pete right now, screw the consequences.
"Re..really?" I tried to hide the excitement and dismay in my voice.
"It's just that.. I.. I really wanted to do it. I always have."
I had no hesitation on what to do next. I leaned right in and kissed him. I put my arms around his shoulders and he put his around my waist. It was a good feeling. Like I just destroyed any doubt I had of my love for him. "Pete?" I said after we finished. "I really want to be with you."
"I really want to be with you too. But we have to keep it a secret for now.. okay?"
I let him know I agreed by kissing him again. Short and sweet this time. Then Elisa came downstairs and I pulled away before she saw anything. "Morning sweetheart."
"Morning baby, Hey Pete!" Elisa kissed me on the cheek and patted Pete on the head before sitting in between us. Well this is awkward.
---------------
It's been a week since Pete and I started to see each other, secretly might I add. I don't know what to say really. I still love Elisa, but with Pete it's different. He's wild and spontaneous and.. my best friend. I don't know how much longer I can keep this a secret. But it seems I soon won't have to. Pete's been talking about breaking it off with Meagan, and myself doing the same with Elisa. I can't, she's my wife. Last night Pete told me he was going to tell Meagan he doesn't want to see her anymore today. I can't help but wonder when. I decided to text him.
Hey have you done it yet? You know..
Just about to.
Let me know how it goes.
Yeah she's pretty mad.
Did you tell her it was because of me?
Ah... yup.
Well shit.
Yeah, sorry.
Guess I'll do the same with Elisa?
I think you should.
Okay, I'll tell you how it goes I guess.
No, I can't do it. I can't. Oh God, who can help me?
Brendon.
Before I knew exactly what I was going to say I ran to the car and was driving to Brendon's. Pete and I haven't told anyone about our relationship, I think Brendon's one of the best people to tell first. I knocked at his door, silently praying that he'll understand.
P.O.V Brendon
I heard a knock at my door, but of course I knew who it was. Had to be the pizza I ordered an hour ago. I stomped to the door in complete rage that it had not come earlier. Sarah and I were starving. Gosh how long does it take to get a crappy pizza? I opened the door. "About time! I ordered a pizza more than an-" I had to look down a bit to see who it was. Oh, it's Patrick. Course I knew that too. I was just kidding. "Oh, it's you. What's up P? I ordered a pizza an hour ago so when it gets here you're free to join Sarah and I." Patrick looked a little guilty. "Actually Brendon, I need your advice." Pff, bet you 50 dollars this is about Pete. "That's a good thing for me to give over pizza, if it ever bloody gets here." He laughed at my stubbornness. "It's about Pete." Told you.
"Pete likes pizza. Why don't we invite him round?"
"Brendon, that's the problem. He can't know about this."
"Ahh, I see. Come in, we can talk about it inside. It's absolutely freezing out there. Maybe the pizza man froze." I led him into the living room where Sarah was watching an old Christmas movie. "What's up Patrick! Pizza will probably be here soon, you can join me and Bren." I rolled my eyes. "That pizza will never be here. Anyway he's got something important he needs my advice on."
"I'm a girl! Is it girl problems Patty?" I snorted.
"Well it is Pete."
"Actually, yeah kinda. Pete and Elisa problems." He mumbled, looking slightly sick.
"Tell us what happened then." Patrick fiddled with his fingers and closed his eyes.
"Me and Pete, have been.. seeing each other."
Sarah looked at me. I looked at Sarah. We both exclaimed "KNEW IT!"
"Peterick?" Sarah winked. I squealed at the word. "OTP!" Patrick looked very, very scared. "Okay so what's the problem then?" Sarah said very calmly noticing that we'd scared Patrick. "He broke it off with Meagan and then we agreed I'd do the same with Elisa.. but I can't. I think I still love her." Sarah and I looked at each other, not knowing what to say. "Well Patrick, we can't really help you. I mean I'd love to say go for it, you know. If you really love Pete and he's new and exciting and that's why then I'd break it off with Elisa. But if you still love Elisa then that's nothing I can help with. I think you need to find out if you are truly still in love with her. Be honest with Pete okay?"
"Brendon's right Patrick, if you really want to be with Pete go ahead, but make sure you're not hurting either of them by lying."
"Right, you're right. Thanks guys." Patrick got up to leave but just as he opened the door there was the pizza guy. "HEY! YOU'RE NEARLY TWO HOURS LATE NOW!" I pouted and crossed my arms. "Look just give me the money. Sir you do this every week." Patrick gave me a glance and laughed. "Fine." I handed him over 20$. "P? Where do you think you're going?"
"To sort this all out.." And with that he left, without saying another word. His cute little booty danced straight out of my life. But he'll be back with another Peterick problem! "SARAAAAH!? THE PIZZA'S HERRRRE!!" I yelled to my beautiful wife who came strutting into the kitchen to share it with me. "Merry Christmas baby." I said as I kissed her.
*OKAY DO YOU KNOW WHAT'S INSANE? THE FACT THAT I HAD 72 READS OVERALL EARLIER ON AND NOW I HAVE OVER 60 ON THE FIRST CHAPTER. That's a big achievement for me. I really love writing about Brendon and Sarah, they're so fun and bubbly to write about. Sorry for the short chapters recently but it is the Christmas season and I have 200 different things to do, I want this done before Christmas so there'll be many updates coming along. Thanks for the reads especially! The comments make my day! And those votes keep me going!*
