I anxiously waited for them at the door. (Your name) was in my room once again hiding. I wanted to tell my parents first and then introduce her. My legs were shaking. I couldn't imagine what I would do if they said she couldn't stay here. But, judging by the things she told me last night, her story is most likely to convince them. How could someone do that to her. She sobbed uncontrollably as she was telling me. I wanted to tell her to stop so much, but I had to know everything. It hurt.

After she told me everything I held her there in my arms while she cried. I told her how we were here for her and how I loved her. She looked at me with shocked, wide eyes. I guess it'd been a long time since she heard those words directed at her. She cried even harder and hugged me tight. She gripped onto my shirt as if she was holding on for dear life. And maybe she was. She knew my parents were coming back today. She knew they might send her away.

'She could live with Haru' I thought. Yeah, why hadn't I thought of that before? I mean he might say no, but he did seem like he warmed up to her yesterday. I could convince him if my parents disagreed. I didn't have to worry at all! Relief flooded into me. I was still terrified though. I wanted her here. I wanted to wake up and see her face every day. I wanted to hold her every night. I wanted her to be apart of this family. It wouldn't be like that if she were to stay at his place.

I heard a door slam outside. A car door. 'This is it'. I took a deep breath and opened the door. But it wasn't my parents. It was the police. 'What do they want? Is it possible they're here for... her?' "Hello son," one man said. "We've been looking for the daughter of a drug abuser that lives down the street. The footprints in the sand led to this house. Also, we found this." He held up a kitchen knife in a bag that had blood on it. I recognized it instantly.

"Oh yes she's here. I've been keeping her safe. What do you want with her?" I asked.

They looked at each other skeptically. "We want to know why this bloody knife was on the beach. Near the knife we also saw in the sand what must've been someone struggling to get away. Where is the girl?" He asked.

"Wait... you think I hurt her?! No you're making a mistake. I went for a walk outside one night because I couldn't sleep and I brought the knife with me in case I needed it for some reason and I found her hiding in the bushes with cuts, bruises, and scars all over her. She attacked me and I accidentally cut her with the knife I swear," I told them frantically.

"Listen kid just tell us where the girl is," one of them said clearly not believing me. I opened the door wider and led them inside. When we got to my room the door was cracked open and I could see her peeking through it.

"Wait here," I said. I didn't want her to be scared by these men. I could see pure terror in her eyes. She glared at them like they were monsters from some other planet. "Hey," I gently soothed her. "These guys just have some questions about what happened to you. They mean no harm, and I'm here if you start to feel scared."

"They're not gonna take me away are they?" She whispered with wide, worried eyes.

"We don't have all day," An officer said and walked up. He pushed the door open and (name) just stood there staring at him in fear. "Relax sweetie. We just want to ask you a couple of questions," He told her. She nodded hesitantly and came out the room.

We went into the living room. The cops got a pad and paper out to record what she was going to tell them, and I offered to make them some coffee. My hands were sweating uncontrollably as I made it.

(Your POV)

"Has the man in this house tried to hurt you at all?" He asked. I hastily shook my head. How could he think that that sweet boy would hurt me!? He's been nicer to me than anyone ever has in my entire life! "Okay. Could you explain the bloody knife on the beach to me please?" He asked. I had to tell him. Tell him about my father, tell him about how Makoto saved me. "Well-" I started but couldn't finish. The front door was slammed open suddenly and four people I've never seen before walked in. Two of them were children.

"What on earth is going on Makoto!? Why are there police cars outside!? Is everything o...kay?" On the last word she hesitated as she took in the sight that was before her.

"Mom, Dad welcome back!" Makoto came out of the kitchen frantically. Could we talk in the kitchen?" He asked. They looked at him, then back to me, then back at him. They followed him into the kitchen with the children following behind looking terrified. I saw a police man follow in after them to find out what's going on.

"Anyways..." I started quietly. "That boy actually saved my life. I have an abusive father and he snapped the other night and came at me with a knife. I jumped out the window and ran to the beach as fast as I could. When I hid in the bushes, Makoto" I gently pointed in the direction of the kitchen, "saw me in the bushes. I saw his knife and thought he was my father so I attacked him and that caused him to accidentally cut me." I rolled up the sleeve of my shirt and showed him my bandaged arm.

"He should've taken you to the hospital and had let them handle this. He had no right taking you in," He said.

Just then, my father walked in. He was wearing a suit and his thin hair was gelled back. He also seemed sober. When we made eye contact he ran up to me frantically and he was smiling. "Oh thank goodness you're safe sweetie! I was so worried! What happened to you? Who took you? I swear when I find him..." the police officer grabbed my fathers arms and put his wrists in handcuffs.

"You're under arrest," He said.

"What!? What the hell did I do!? I lost my daughter to someone kidnapping her and you're putting me under arrest? Where the hell is the bastard that took her!" He shouted.

Makoto, the man, woman, children, and police officer came out of the kitchen. "You're the ones who took her!" My father screamed. "I'll kill you! I'll kill you! I'll kill you!" He jerked out of the officer's grasp and sprinted towards Makoto.

"No!" I screamed. I pushed him and he fell onto a glass table which shattered everywhere. Luckily he couldn't stop his fall due to the handcuffs, so he hit his head against the table. Blood started oozing on the ground everywhere.

This chapter is probably the worst one I'm so sorry! I had trouble thinking of ideas. The story is coming to an end, and I'm sorry it took me a while to write this! I promise I will make the next chapter better.
