Yesterday flew by in a blur. I told my friends I had some homework to catch up on during the pep rally, which they bought. Dance was different, but I'd have to get use to it. And as for Harley, I didn't see him after the street confrontation.
Today was cooler than most days, and it was lunch time. I was perched on a brick wall by the stairs alone.
Ella was in the lunch line getting today's mystery meat. As for Max and Emma, well Max was sick, and that boy, Chase, took Emma out for a hearty meat in a near by town.
I let out a breath as I swung my legs back and forth and watched them dangle a foot from the ground. A small breeze blew around campus shifting the newly fallen dead leaves. I closed my eyes and held my head back to the sun.
"Where are your friends?"
"Go away. I have pepper spray, and I don't want to waste it on your pathetic waste of space." I said to Frazer, not bothering to open my eyes.
Ignoring my words I felt something plop down next to me, and I peaked open my eyes. He had his usual bad/preppy boy get up on. A tan kaki shade of pants and a flannel button down shirt. His hair had been styled in a messy way on purpose, and most likely due to the weather and the fact that we were outside the freezing school building, he wore no jacket.
"Well if your not scared of my pepper spay you should leave before Logan sees you." I said as I looked forward once more looking across the front lawn.
"He's out on business, I think I'm safe." He responded lightly.
I sighed and turned to him. "Okay, why are you here then?" I questioned.
He didn't answer quickly, almost like he was pondering the right way to put his words. "Now hear me out okay, I know everything. Harley told me about you guys little bet, how you met, how you guys fight like cats and dogs..."
"Yeah, I bet he did. That little twat can't seem to keep his mouth shut." Frazer chuckled beside me and proceeded to talk.
"I just want you to know I'm not going to tell anyone, and as for Logan, you have another inside ally looking out for you." He finished, and I stared at him blankly.
"Really?" I said in an astonished tone.
"Yeah, really." He said with a laugh.
"Did Harley threaten you? Because-"
"No, no this was all my idea I promise. Audin," He sighed. "I know you and Harley are in one out your quarrels, but he's an okay guy once you really get to know him. He's just a little screwed up like the rest of us, maybe more." I nodded, and he added. "I just want to ask you one favor..."
"Ah, there it is. I have a strict policy on doing others homework-"
"No Audin, just listen." He said as another laugh left his lips. "It's not like that." His tongue passed over his lips nervously. "I was wondering of you could put in a good word for me with Ella?"
I probably looked like the most shocked person ever sitting there with my mouth hanging open. "Ella... As in Ella Greene, my Ella?" I asked as I pointed to myself.
"...yeah?" He muttered slightly discouraged.
"No I didn't mean it like that! Uh-I yeah. I mean yes I will help you with Ella." I said with a smile forming on my lips.
"Hey Audin what's going on over here?" I looked up to see Ella standing on my other side. She wore a black shirt and a thin short sleeve grey cardigan on light wash skinny jeans and a sunset burnt scarf.
