I watched as my brothers life force died. I knew there was only one thing to do. I drew his spirit into my body. I promised him I would keep him safe. Then I was born. I never saw my brother after that until the night we were robbed.
I was hiding under the bed, crying. The bad man came into my room, and pulled me out from under the bed. I screamed and kicked, but he grabbed me by the throat. The air was knocked from my lungs, my mind rolled into unconscious. My brother was standing above he, his hand outstretched. Which gave me his strength along with my own.
"Let me fight. Stay here sister." He whispered to me, so I stayed inside the safety of my mind and my brother took control of my body. I watched my own body fight back, like I was watching my life through a television screen.
The guy went down. He died that night, and I was returned to my body. My brother returning to the shadows of my mind. Watching and protecting, like my guardian angel. I called out to him as he disappeared.
I woke from my sleep with a startled gasp. Sitting up straight I looked around. I was back in my bed, safe and sound. Sighing I crawled out from under my blanket and made my way into the kitchen. I grabbed a yogurt out of the fridge and a spoon.
As I turned to go back to my room, I noticed Sampson sprawled out on the couch. A cushion was on the floor, as well as one of his legs. I giggled just slightly at the sight. Then I put down my yogurt on the counter, and moved beside Sampson.
I moved his leg back onto the couch, and I was pulling up his covers when he grabbed me by my waist. I gasped just slightly as he hauled me on top of him. Once on his body he rotated, placing me between him and the couch. He buried his face in the crook of my neck. Meanwhile my face was as red as a tomato.
I sat motionless for what felt like hours. Afraid to move. Eventually though, sleep pulled me into the darkness of my mind. I relaxed my body and I felt Sampson's strong arm wrap around my waist. Making me feel warm and protected.
When I woke up later that afternoon, I found myself in my own bed once more. I glanced at the clock, and noticed it was three in the afternoon. My eyes went wide and I shot out of bed. First i took a quick shower. Then I grabbed clothes for the day and threw them on. After I was dressed I went into the living room wondering if it was all a dream.
The twins were with the girls making breakfast. Ruby and Ryder were arguing over the remote. Ari wasn't around and I assumed he was in his room listening to music. Sampson was passed out in the recliner. I couldn't help but let my mind wander back to last night, if it was even real. I decided to push it into the back of my mind, and i grabbed some eggs out of the kitchen.
I sat down and ate my eggs in peace, wondering. I was in such a daze i didn't realize that Ruby was talking to me until i saw her hand waving in my face.
"Are you okay?" she asked, her eyes full of concern. I just nodded, and went to throw away my food. As i lifted the lid of the trash can, my eyes widened. In the bottom of the trash was my yogurt. I was so nervous, i just put on my shoes and bolted out of the motel.
I walked along the edge of the water, thinking about Damien. I couldn't believe that we were related, and i didn't know how to tell anyone that he existed. Ruby was my best friend, and i couldn't even tell her. Not until i got some answers on my own. I sighed, kicking a rock into the water. I turned to leave the waters edge when i saw Storm. Out of instinct i hid out of sight, and i watched him curiously.
'Is he looking for me?' i thought. Just then I witness what i can only describe as betrayal. Storm used his powers to open the dark door, and he stepped through. Me being the curious cat, i had to follow. So i did. I followed him through the lights, a trick i picked up while practicing my fire magic. He was heading into a hall with a thrown, My father sitting on it.
