When I awoke, I could hear shouting. I slowly opened my eyes, and looked around. I wasn't on the grounds anymore, and I wasn't in my house either. Panic began to set in as I shot up out of the bed, but I lost my footing and crashed to the floor. 'That's gonna leave a bruise..' I thought to myself. Suddenly the door was flung open, scaring me half to death as all my friends came in. Then I Noticed the boy I had healed follow in behind Storm. "Are you okay?" I asked the boy.
"What?!" everyone else shouted at me, but I never broke eye contact with the boy. Storm stomped towards me, and waved his hand in my face, but I just kept looking at the boy. Finally I noticed him slowly nod and a smile broke across my face as I leaned back against the bed. "Thank goodness. I was scared you were gonna die."
"Him? You were afraid he was gonna die?! We were scared to death that you were gonna die! We all ended up agreeing to stay here till the next festival because I had to heal you!" all Storms shouting made me flinch. That made the stranger step forward between Storm and I. Storm's eye widened slightly as he stood between us.
"You're scaring her Storm." he said in a threatening tone. hinting for him to back off. Storm didn't get the hint though.
"Sampson. You don't tell me what to do. Because of you she could have died." Storm snapped. Well at least now I knew his name.
"Putting her under this kind of stress is only going to speed up the process. So back off of her."
"Speed up what process?" Sampson tensed. Then slowly turned to me. I knew what he was talking about, but how did he know? I glanced at Ruby, but she gave me that look saying she didn't say anything.
I was pulled from my thoughts when Sampson bent down to my level. "You haven't told them?" he questioned. I panicked, my skin started to heat up. I felt like I was on fire. when I get backed into a corner and I can't get out, I black out. Ruby noticed my look luckily and stepped in.
"Sampson. All of you. Get. Out. Now." Ruby said through gritted teeth, her stare directed at Sampson. i put my hand on Ruby's leg and her eyes widened as well as her pupils. i quickly let go of her, and she grabbed Sampson by the hair. She dragged him to the door and threw him out of the room.
"If you value your life, get out. and don't come back until i come get you." Ruby shouted. All the boys scurried from the room, and Ruby went to my side. I was rocking back and forth, trying not to black out. Yet i knew Ruby couldb't talk me down from this one. I was going to explode.
"Ruby... get out. I can't hold it back." Ruby knew better than to argue, and she shot up, running for the door. she closed it, but i could here her giving orders on the other side of it.
"in the middle of the room, behind me now! Storm protective circle around mine. Quick! This is gonna be strong." i heard her shout. my head was spinning, as i cried out in pain. My powers started to radiate. They were stronger than usual. I was glad Ruby got storm in on the protective circle, because she wasn't going to be able to hold this one back. Not on her own. Then Sampson entered the room with me. i tried to speak, but instead i whimpered.
then my energy exploded outwards. engulfing the room i was in and the rest of the rooms around me. The fire storm tapped out, and my body relaxed against the floor. This was it, I had no more energy left in me. The darkness was going to comsume me. Sampson leaned over me and did that healing thing that i did to him. i coughed, sitting up as Ruby and the rest of them walked in. Ruby knew a normal elemental mage wouldn't have been able to block that blast.
The next thing i know, Sampson is thrown against the wall, a fire snake wrapped around his throat. i watched as Ruby yelled at him, but my hearing haden't returned. Then i noticed it. I noticed the symbol on his leg. It was an infinity sign. I had read about these elementals in class, but I thought they were just myths. I stood slowly and sent the images in my head to Ruby's mind. She gasped and released the Infinity mage.
We all slowly made our way to the living room of what i finally had found out was the hotel. Ruby, Ryder, Ari, Avani, Jordan, Storm and I all sat down, waiting for an explanation. Sampson took deep breaths. then slowly began his story.
"My parents were both infinity mages. There were only a few females left. most though were killed during a long battle over 100 years ago. My great Grandma was just a kid then. She had fled with her father to the main land with other infinity mages. The light and dark mages believed that we were dangerous because we could use all elements. So the ones that didn't escape were slaughtered. Well when I was five years old, my powers started to activate. I couldn't control them so my parents had to move away. We moved to the coast of Ireland, so that way my parents could train me to control my powers. Once I was fully trained, they told me I had one mission. My mission is to take control of the realms, and restore order. The only way for me to do that is to find the realms scroll. If I open it, all the things that the light mages have altered will return to normal. Most of the things you see are figments of your imagination. Including your appearences. The only true things about you are your eyes and symbols. The only people who can see the true looks are light, dark, and infinity mages."
'That makes sense now.' i thought to myself as Sampson spoke.
"What makes sense now?" Storm asked me. 'crap i said that out loud..' I nervously chuckle, and look towards Sampson. He nodded, and sat down. Then slowly i stood up, and tuened to face everyone.
"Well guys you all know I met Aiden after the games... but he wasn't why I was late catching up with you guys. Umm.. i was cornered by someone. A dark mage. He showed me the door... The dark door." i finished with a sigh, as the boys gasped. Sampson raised from his seat, and pulled me into a hug. which made me cry like a baby. I grabbed onto Sampsons shirt and cried into his shirt. As i cried Sampson took me into my room and laid me down. yet i wouldn't let go of him, and instead i pulled him into my bed with me and cried. He stayed and soothed me by humming and rubbing my back until i finally drifted off into a deep sleep.
"You can't run Scarlet. Daddy will find you, and once I've turned you fully I will use you to get to your brother. One of you needs to rule, to become heir to the dark mages. After all you both have dark mage blood in you. Scarlet, you and your brother need to come home. Your mothers can't protect you any longer. You need to except your destiny. Your bother must except his as well. Sadly though, only one of you can rule. The other one will die. You have to kill your bother Scarlet. If you don't he will kill you. It is kill or be killed. I want you to rule in my place. The only way for that to happen is if you kill your brother. You must kill Storm." My fathers voice echoed in my head. I woke up screaming, and swinging. My fist went flighing, but never made contact with anything. I finally take in my surrounding as i calm myself. My eyes follow my arm, only to meet with Sampson's. My eyes pricked with tears, as he pulled me close.
"Shh... Its okay. I'm here. No one will hurt you." he whispered in my ear. I only answered with a nod. "What happened Scarlet?" Sampson asked me.
"Storm is my brother." i said in barely a whispered. I felt Sampson wrap his arms around me, and pull me closer to him. The last thing i remembered before falling back to sleep was Sampson kissing my forehead.
