Chapter 3-Were To Go?

As dawn broke, Megan and I slipped out the doors of the stadium, As we began walking down the road avoiding anything that would draw attention to us, We had made it maybe 2 miles and we seen the first of what was to come of the apocalypse. There was one of those things heading right towards us, and we didn't have anything to protect ourselves with. It was still a little ways away so we began looking around us for something to use to kill these monsters.

"There is nothing for us to use" I told Megan, So as it got closer we decided that the only thing we could do was to try and slip past it, So as it drew closer to us we walked as far from it as we could but it came right at us as we began to pass it, "RUN!" Megan Exclaimed. So we ran that's all we could do, As we were running I turned around to notice that they couldn't move very fast. "I think we're good" I told Megan.

It was nearly 10 A.M we had been walking for almost 4 hours, We were getting closer to being at my house, "Just a little further". As we neared my parents road, "I'm scared Megan, I'm terrified of what I am going to find". We finally reach the house, and I walk up to the door and turn the knob, It's locked! I knocked, no answer I'll try out back, It was unlocked I open the door and we walk in. I began hollering for my parents, Checking the rooms as I went nothing so far, As we neared the last room I was even more afraid then before I slowly open it to look in, NOTHING. They must have left when they heard, They might have went looking for me, They must went to the nursing home. "One of their cars is still in the drive way" I said "We can take it to go to your house" I told Megan.

As I grabbed the keys off the hook in the kitchen as we were heading out that's when I seen it. "Megan I screamed, They were supposed to take off yesterday for the coast, They were going out on a cruise." I wondered to myself if they would still go knowing that all this is happening thinking they would still be having it. "I've Got A Plan, We Will Take The Car, Go Check Out You're Place, Head To Our Work Just To Check That They Didn't Go There Looking For Me, And If Not Were Heading Down South , You With Me?" I asked.

"I'm In" Megan said hold up were gonna need something to protect ourselves so I ran back to my grandparents room and opened up the gun safe, It's all here I said as I grabbed all that i could carry, I looked over into the closet and grabbed out 2 duffel bags, and began loading them up with all the guns, ammo, and knives that I could fit, an grabbed two holsters off the shelf of the safe threw one at Megan "Here put that on and take this", as i handed her a pistol. Were gonna be hungry to I guess, So I grabbed another bag out of the closet and headed to the kitchen I threw a little bit of everything in there, and grabbed some clothes out of the closet, locked the door and we loaded up and headed out to Megan's house.

We drove the next 30 minutes down the road to Megan's house, As we pulled up the doors we wide open and there was a big read X spray painted on the door, Megan and I looked at each other and back at the door this don't look good I said as we got out, and walked in the house. We searched the house, nobody was home but stuff is missing "The pictures are gone off the walls the photo albums are gone, They were alive when they left here nobody else would take that stuff. We went and grabbed some more stuff to load up in the car to take with us, and Megan said "They might have went to my aunts house in Georgia she was one of those preppers that always was preparing for this kind of shit, she always said when shit hits the fan for us to come down and we would be safe in the bunker she bought, That's were they went I know they did."

So that's were we are heading Atlanta Georgia, We jumped in the car and jumped on the interstate. We had been driving for 6 hours it was almost dark and we were getting tired so we pulled off in this little town just across the Tennessee/Alabama state line. We hadn't seen one of those things in a couple miles we should be safe here I said. We stated in the car threw the night seeing as if that was the safes place to sleep at the moment, I woke up just as the sun was rising I looked over at Megan who was still asleep in the passenger seat, I'll just let her sleep for a while I might need her to drive later if I get tired, I thought to myself I reached up to turn on the radio, no noise is coming out, Well shit the towers must have crashed glad I had a couple CD's in my purse I hate the quite.

About 3 hours went by and we were drawing near Birmingham Alabama, when Megan finally woke up "Reach back in that bag and grab us some food" I said I'm starting to get hungry. "Do You Want Me To Drive A Bit?" Megan asked "Sure Thing I Could Nap For Awhile I Guess" I told her. When I woke up it was close to 5 o'clock, Where are we? Le Grande, Georgia were getting close Megan stated a couple more hours and we will be right outside the city and we will pull off and rest for the night.

Finally we saw the sign for Atlanta, were a hour out max, As we were driving we saw a sign that said DANGER! DO NOT GO INTO THE CITY! ITS DEAD.....Turn Right In 1/2 a mile SAFE HAVEN!

Megan lets check this out your parents might be there if the city is gone I said. Megan turned into the little dirt road and we headed up the hill, when we arrived it was almost dark and we saw a bunch of people sitting around a fire eating, They stood up and walked over to us. "We saw your sign, Is the city really dead?" I asked. Some tall dark haired man spoke up, "Yes Mam, Its Gone The Army Bombed It Because Its Over Run By The Walkers, Nothing And Nobody Is Left!" Megan dropped to her knees and began to sob," It can't be gone that's the last hope of were my parents could have been and now its gone."

"What's Your Names & Were You Coming From? " asked another man who appears to be wearing a police uniform. "I'm Kallie & this is my best friend Megan were from Knoxville Tennessee" I said.The man spoke up "My name is Rick, Rick Grimes I Was A Officer For King County, And This Is My Best Friend Shane, My Wife Lori, And My Son Carl Your Welcome To Stay Here If You Want "
