Chapter 8-Our Life Will Change

KALLIE'S POV

"Daryl, Let Me Go Now" I was screaming as he had his arms around me preventing me from going into the house, "I Got to help Megan, I can save her" I told him. "Kallie, you can go inside and assist Hershel, but god woman would you listen to me for a second" Daryl said as he released me from his grip. I stood looking at him "Kallie, she is okay but she got hit in the stomach and the bullet didn't go in clean it split into fragments,she's unconscious but they are removing it now." He said I was just shocked that was the worst place to get hit, and it's worse that the bullet split I thought to myself "Now Go!" he said while pointing to the house.

I walked into the room were Hershel was, "I'm a nurse what do you need me to do?"  I said walking over to Megan's side. "Check her vitals and push another 50cc of morphine, to keep her out so she don't move and feel everything" Hershel said "What kind of a doctor were you?" I asked "I was a vet mam" he replied. I was shocked he hasn't ever done this on a human, Megan's life was on the line anger came over me. "I'm going to step out since your finished removing them for now" I said as he was hooking Carol up to give Megan more blood. "One more thing mam before you leave, Do you know her blood type?" He asked "Yea its type B" I told him walking out of the room. I walked outside onto the porch and sat in the swing and put my face in my hands and began balling my eyes out, When Lori walked over to me to give me a comforting hug, "She'll be okay" she said. "We don't know that this man ins't even a fucking doctor hes a mother fucking vet" I told her while getting up walking away.

 I walked back inside to the house to check on Megan, Hershel had removed the last of the bullets and stitched her back up. I sat down in the chair beside her bed, around and hour or so after I sat down Megan began waking up "Your Okay, You Alive, Oh Thank God I Thought I Was Going To Loose You" I told her while hugging her neck. I'm going to walk out and let them know your awake, "Will you send Shane in" Megan asked "Um sure but why Shane" I asked her "I kinda like him, and I think he likes me too" She told me. I walked outside to were the group was gathered "She's Awake,She's Going To Just Fine" I told them, "Oh and Shane she's asking to see you" I told him. 

MEGAN'S POV

I was laying there trying to remember what all happened before everything went dark, when I heard a knock on the door it was Shane. I started smiling really big, "Sorry are plans got ruined" I told him "Hey Now, don't worry about that it's the fucking apocalypse we have all the time in the world when you get better" He said while sitting down on the bed beside me. "I'm just glad to see your alive, I'm really starting to like you Megan" when they said you had been shot I was worried to death. "I really like you too Shane" I told him. I better get back out there and figure out what the group wants to do he said before standing up he leaned down and kissed my forehead. Kallie came back in as I was smiling ear to ear, "Why a big smile for" she asked "Shane told me he likes me and he kissed my forehead, God I feel like a high school girl" I told her. "Well i'm happy for you, I hope you find happiness in this world" Kallie said.

KALLIE'S POV

About a week had passed since Megan had been shot, Shane & I stayed at the farm with her while the others went back to the community to keep a eye on things. Rick had gave us a walkie talkie in case things got bad, we could just radio for them. Megan was feeling much better now she was getting up and moving around a little bit more, "Kallie, I want to walk outside to go have a smoke will you help me please?" Megan asked. "Sure thing, come on I said" as I helped her up and assisted her in walking outside. "I'll tell you what, after everything that has happened lately this sure tastes good" Megan said as she lit up her cigarette. "Yeah, I know they seem to taste better these days" I said while handing it back to her. I saw Shane walking up from the barn, "I'll be inside if you need anything, I'll let you 2 talk" I told Megan as I walked in threw screen door.
