Chapter 2: New Dresses
Meghan woke up and went down for breakfast. It was bacon and pancakes for today. Meghan went up to her bedroom and wrote a note: Good Morning. She then went to take a bath. She changed to her school dress when the school bus honked. "Meghan! The bus!" Meghan's mother called her. Meghan quickly wore her shoes and grabbed her bag and rushed down the stairs. She found her best friend, Neven, sitting at one corner. "Hi," Neven greeted Meghan. "Hello," Meghan greeted back. The bus jerked and Meghan and Neven saw hobos on their way to school. They stepped out of the bus and headed for the coat room. Meghan and Neven hanged their coats and queued up outside with their class. "Alright class, seats," the teacher said. Mrs. Hannigan, the math substitute teacher, hated Meghan. "Meghan Hughes! Please do the math sum on your textbook, page 35." Meghan was blur. "Do the math sum!" Mrs. Hannigan shouted as she walked to Meghan's desk. "Hey!!!What did I just say?!" Mrs. Hannigan shouted again. "Shut up fucking bitch!" Meghan cussed softly at Mrs. Hannigan. "What is that, young lady?!" Mrs. Hannigan questioned Meghan in anger. Mrs. Hannigan filled out a slip. "One more time, Hughes!" Mrs. Hannigan warned sternly. Meghan turned red in the face. The next period, Mr. Blaine came in for reading. Neven showed the class a book about fairytales. "What I like about princesses is because their outfits are very pretty, and there is always a happy ending," Neven told the whole class. Meghan clapped and cheered loudly for Neven.
