Chapter 3: Mrs. Hannigan

Meghan rushed for the school bus. She managed to find Neven, and she gave her the letter. It said:

Mrs. Hannigan sucks. We should play a prank on her. We should ask Margaret for help.

Neven nodded. "Good plan," Neven said. "I know. Hannigan is so bious," Meghan replied. "I don't think she is teaching us today. Maybe tomorrow?" Neven said. "Yeah. Probably," Meghan replied. The bus stopped in front of the school.

During lunch, Meghan and Neven sat with a girl in her class called Margaret. Margaret was one of the best pranksters in the 9th Grade, the grade Meghan and Neven were in. "Look, we want revenge from Hannigan. Can you at least come up with a smart plan?" Meghan asked Margaret. "Alright. Let's catch a cockroach if we see one in the playground. Since I always help Hannigan carry her books, I will put the cockroach in her purse so when she opens it, the cockroach will make her scared!" Margaret told Neven and Meghan mischieviously.

'Ding dong!' Meghan rang the house bell. "Coming!" Meghan's mother shouted. She opened the door and let Meghan come in. Meghan removed her shoes and went up to her bedroom. "Hey, Gracie! come on here. Kichu!" Meghan chanted to her dog, Gracie. Lindsey opened the door. "Hey, um I was wondering if I could borrow your typewriter," Lindsey asked. "Yeah, sure. But you'll have to sit here. I will do my homework in the dining room," Meghan replied. Lindsey sat at a chair and started typing out a letter on Meghan's typewriter. Meghan set out her stationery and homework on the dining table.

"Mom! Why mashed potatoes again?" Meghan asked. "Just bare with it, Meghan," Lindsey scolded. Meghan was too fed up to eat. She ate a little bit of steak and gave the leftovers to her father. She went up and telephoned Neven. "Hey! It's 10.30. Why you up so late?" Neven asked. "It's not late. We have to wake up extra early to meet Margaret. My mom called the school bus company already," Meghan replied. "Alright. I'll call the bus company. Bye," Neven finished and hung up the phone.
