Chapter 5: Really Bad News
The weekends were finally here and Meghan had planned to go horseriding with Neven. Neven's house was a ranch in the suburbs of Sylvania City. "Mom! I'll be walking to Neven's house," Meghan yelled as the door slammed behind her. Neven's house was quite a long distance. But Meghan did not seemed to mind. After about 25 minutes Meghan had reached Neven's ranch. The glimmering Sylvanian lake overlooked the ranch. 'Ding Dong!' Meghan pressed the bell. "Alright. There you are," Neven said while opening the door. The girls packed some sandwiches and headed out for the stables.

"I am already dressed in my English Horseriding uniform, but you can just stay in your own outfit," Neven explained to Meghan. Both of them were looking at the horses. "I'll pick that horse. Ummm...Starburst, right?" Meghan asked. "No, Starfire. Starburst is my pet llama who lives with my grandparents," Neven laughed. "As usual, my favourite horse, Savvy," Neven said while opening the doors of a horse stall.

Soon, the girls were galloping through the enchanted Sylvanian Forest. They saw deers grazing and foxes, too. "Just. Don't go beyond that point. There coyotes living there," Neven told Meghan. They rode the horses back to the ranch. "Thanks for bringing me horseriding," Meghan thanked. "Oh, no problem," Neven replied. Neven waved goodbye as Meghan walked back to the Sunshine Neighbourhood, where her house is located. A bad surprise was awaiting her.

Meghan ding donged her house bell. Lindsey opened the door and unusually ushered her inside. To her surprise, an unknown boy was sitting on the couch in the living room talking to her mother! "Meghan, I would like you to meet Austin," Her mother welcomed. Meghan felt very nervous. What if this boy was a criminal? He had light brown hair, hazel eyes and was wearing a tuxedo. Tears started to fill Meghan's eyes. She ran upstairs, hid under her blanket and slammed the door. Once Austin had gone back home, Her mother consoled her. "Sweetie, you don't understand. He is not a criminal or anything," Her mother explained. "Then what?" Meghan asked. "He is one of the few choices that...uh....is for your marriage," Her mother replied. "What do you mean?" Meghan asked again. "Oh, one of the few choices for being your husband," Her mother answered. "HUSBAND? WEDDING? There's no way I am getting married at age 15!" Meghan shouted. "But honey! You have to!" Her mother hesitated. "No way! I want an education! I want to go to college! I don't want to be abused by some kind of ugly jerk called Austin!" Meghan cried as she went downstairs and slammed the house door behind her.
