A Hiccelsa Modern War AU Oneshot

Promises
Light was spilling through the leaves of the willow trees that were in the backyard of the Frost residence. Two figures were standing together, the long branches with leaves blowing through the wind, creating an almost serene scene as they stood together. Both unmoving, and quiet. There was a tall brunette man, and a slightly short woman with long pearly blonde hair, that was tied up in a braid that day, had it not been for the wind blowing through, it would have still been on her shoulder.
The scene changed to the boy's perspective--mine, and I see the girl--whom I now recognize was Elsa-- is in front of me, with a serious look on her face. I wracked my brain on how this seemed familiar... But then I realized...
No...
"Hiccup, I need you to promise me something."
"What is it Els? The party's going on inside and-"
"Just... Listen to me, are you listening?"
I nodded, "Yeah, I'm listening, what do you need me to promise?" But then the scene slowly started to change, melting away like water bleeding through the colours of the scene to a more darker one. Elsa extinguished like smoke, but her voice still ringed in my ears.
WABOOM!
"Get down!"
"They're gaining on us!"
"Haddock, we need you up here!"
BOOM!
Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!
"Come on boys!"
Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!
"Eat my bullets you terrorizing bitches!"
Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!
"We're pinned here! We need to get out!"
Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!
"What the hell are you doing Overland?!" I ask, my vision turning from darkness to seeing myself and Jack inside the cockpit that our squad had made. Flashes of bullets were everywhere and little mushroom fogs of bombs erupted from the ground while screams of my fellow men and the enemy sounded through the scene when we were shot or bombed or mourning the dead.
I was in hell again.
My breathing accelerated, and I looked over to Jack, seeing him with a contemplative look on his face, then Jack looks up to him.
My vision flickers to see Elsa's face again, for only a moment, like an old film when she repeats herself,
"I need you to promise me something."
