I step onto the pavement. Excitement and Nervousness knot my stomach. The University of London, I finally made it.

"I can't believe my baby girl is finally growing up," my mom says, sobs breaking her voice.

"Come on Theresa, you're embarrassing her," my dad says then looks me in the eyes, his face breaking into a smile, "we're so proud of you Diana."

"I know," I say smiling telling myself I wasn't going to cry,"I'll miss you."

"I know," my mom says smiling through her tears and we walk in.

We find my dorm and I walk in. There in the corner pinning up posters of some show called 'Doctor Who' that I had never seen, was a girl about my height with long straight strawberry blond hair, blue eyes and heart shaped lips was my new roommate. I hug my parents goodbye and go to introduce myself to my roommate.

"Hi," I say,"I'm Diana."

"Bella," she says holding out her hand for me to shake.

"What classes are you taking?" I say going over to my own corner of our small room.

"I'm majoring in literature," she says walking over to her pile of poster and choosing one with a giant picture of Harry Potter.

"I'm majoring in the performing arts," I say pulling out my own posters of my favourite band, One Direction.

"So you like One Direction?" Bella asks.

"Yeah, they're my favourite band," I say smiling, excitement rising inside me. They were one of the reasons I chose to come to the University of London. I heard that a few of the members of the band were coming here and I couldn't resist applying.

"You sound just like my sister," she says smiling.

"She's a fan?" I ask.

"Huge fan, me and her are twins but complete opposites. I'm really into Doctor Who, Harry Potter, Sherlock, Narnia and stuff like that but she's into One Direction, 5 seconds of summer, Glee and the Hunger Games. I'm a writer but she's a musician," she says.

"She sounds a lot like me," I say smiling. I'd never met anyone who liked all the same things as me. All the people at my high school were all sporty and even when I met someone with the same interests as me they always hid it because they were too ashamed that they liked the performing arts to show the world their talent.

"I'll introduce you two sometime," she says going over to the dresser on her side of the room to start unpacking her things and I smile. My first day of college and I've already made a new friend, well sorta.
