I sat at a log in between the two eldest brothers (her brothers) and sighed thinking back to mine and Decimus  conversation earlier .

Flashback

"Father "

"You have told father of our location!"

Before I had a chance to react thaddeous has stepped out from the trees . He was furious .

"Thaddeous love I thought you were with Rebekah ."

Calming breaths, calming attitude,relax

"I was I came to ask if you wanted me to get extra fire wood just in case and then I hear this! You ,you . You traitor how could you do this to her! You know what that man will do !"

Decimus shrunk down and began whimpering showing his neck submitting to his superior.

"Thaddeous! That is enough! Decimus get up right now! HOW DARE YOU MAKE HIM SUBMIT! Like he is some kind of slave! You are no ones superior nor anyone's inferior how many times have i told you boys this ? You hurt me more by trying to dominate each other than any action that can occur. So he has given father the weapon and our location . That horrid man is linked to me unbeknownst to him if he kills me I will take him with me. I will not allow you to cower any longer before that man .
Now thaddeous you will not speak a word of this to anyone, not your brothers ,not Rebekah no one alright ? And Decimus clear away those tears darling . You have not hurt me nor wounded me . If father finds me so be it I will not allow such things to come upon your conscience understood ? Now come along no more of this we will enjoy the night . For once I have a story of my own I'd like to share."

And with that I slowly walked away from my brothers . Unknowing that Niklaus was standing only in the treeline amassed by my lack of anger and lack of betrayal.

It was until Niklaus saw her stop after her brothers left . Her shoulders shook and her body jolted . As she fell to her knees and placed her hands over her eyes . Niklaus knew . What he had seen was nothing more than a mask . He knew the fear of a father and he knew how angry you became when your siblings cause a beating . And so with that he ran to the sobbing girl . Wrapped his arms around her . Later her on his lap . And told her something that he would remember for the rest of his life .

"Don't worry your just fine I'll protect you I'll fight with you even ! I' promise I'll never hurt or betray you . Because I love you my sister .

And his words did have effect

Ella's heart cracked as she realised not only has he seen the whole thing but he knew of her fathers torture and still cared for her the same

And she knew his longing

The longing for a sibling to understand

To help

To heal

To trust

But little did they both know

That the sibling bond they shared ran deeper than they thought
