(Earlier that night)

When the three Gryffindors broke away to run to their party room, Salem had to find her own way back down to the dungeons where the Slytherins were. She tripped on one of the stairs and cut her knee as she skidded down the stone. It was very hard to find her way in the dim light of the dark hallways, but she was starting to get used to it.

Salem was just about to reach the door when an arm grabbed her and pulled her to the left.

"Hello, little-raven," said a voice that Salem kicked herself after hearing.

"What are doing, Spiderous?!" She exclaimed.

"Funny, I was going to ask you the same thing," he said.

Spiderous brushed his finger along Salem's cheek, and she quickly pulled away, repulsed. He looked in her face and smirked. His light blue eyes were almost nothing, due to his pupils being so big in the darkness.

"Why do you keep calling me that?" She blurted out in frustration.

"What? Little raven? Because you are just like your sister, that black bird. Tell me, would you rather be called Little raven, or Wretch?"

"Neither, because my name is Salem, and I'm nothing like my sister," she said.

He pretended to look shocked.
"It is? I'm so sorry, I'll be sure to call you that from now on, miss Wretch."

Salem was about to punch Spiderous Malfoy in the nose when she heard footsteps.

She shoved him into the wall and looked around the corner. She saw a teacher walk to the doors, open them, and shout to all the Slytherin first and second years to go back to their dorms. Salem saw this as her chance to get back; to blend into the crowd. She was about to run, but Spiderous's arm pulled her back.

"Where do you think you're going?" He said mockingly.

"To bed," she said nervously.

"Oh no your not. See, if you get caught, then I get caught. Also, you and I have some...unfinished business to attend to," he stared at her, maniacally.

Spiderous wrapped his hand around her arm, squeezing it. He took out his wand from his back pocket. Salem only just noticed his costume for the party. He was dressed in a white long-sleeved shirt and black leather leggings. His hair was pulled back. He reminded Salem of his father, Draco Malfoy. Spiderous pulled his wand up to her face.

"You say you like mudbloods and bloodtraitors. Well, we'll soon fix that..." He trailed off whispering to himself. He chuckled.

He lifted his wand and was about to perform a spell. Salem then spit in his face,  making his eyes shut tight, and used her free hand to slap him. She slapped as hard as she could, and she left a red mark on Spiderous's cheek. Salem ran around the corner, and into the small crowd of first years. She pulled her hood up (her Halloween costume was a blue cloak with stars, to resemble Merlin from King Arthur) and blended into the crowd. This was just what she wanted. She walked at a leisurely pace, taking care not to seem different. She followed the other Slytherins to the common room. Salem crept up the stairs and went to her dorm room door. She opened it and went to her bed.
