Alma begrudgingly ate what she presumed was soup, it had no taste whatsoever. It honestly didn't have that much more of consistency than the porridge. It was gross. How were they all meant to survive on this stuff? It seriously confused her how so much money could be thrown at this mission, yet the food was totally scrimped on. Regardless, she drunk the water quickly, she was hoping that it would rid her mouth of the taste of bland, disgusting soup. It didn't. It really didn't do the job, she put the glass on the bedside table and then picked up the tray and moved back over to the table.
David simply looked away from the holoscreen in front of him and watched her basically drop the tray down with a frown. She turned and crossed her arms and looked at him with a frown before a smile slowly appeared on her face. David shifted and sat up more as she made her way slowly over. She sat down on the edge of the bed and put her hands together at her chest. "Popcorn?"
"Well, I don't know..." he trailed off turning suddenly serious. He looked at her firmly while she slowly pouted and climbed over his legs to get back to her original seat. She knelt by his side and looked at him pleadingly.
"Are you still mad?" Though he was talking to her, he hadn't exactly gone out of his way to strike up any conversations. And this was from someone who didn't stop talking. She figured he was still irked that she inadvertently called him a system. She was sorry, she sighed and shuffled a little closer to him. Alma mused actions spoke louder than words.
So, she reached up and ran a hand through his hair, David turned his head and looked at her. The holoscreen no longer held any interest. She leaned forwards and went to kiss him on the cheek. David however turned his face and caught her lips with his own. Alma shifted her legs underneath herself and placed her hands against his chest. They slowly crept up and rested against his neck, straightening out her fingers she managed trace his jaw.
David, feeling implored by her reactions, reached up and threaded his hand into her hair and pulled her close. She shifted and unfurled her legs from underneath herself and wrapped her arms around his neck. David leaned more into her, and this caused her to slowly fall back. He made sure not to fully lay on top of her, and instead stayed leaning against one forearm while his other arm stayed resting on her other side.
"I'm forgiven then?" Alma asked sounding a little breathless, while David remained over her seemingly none the worse for what just happened.
He smiled slowly and leaned his forehead against hers. "You were already."
"You let me believe you were still upset! And for what?" Alma exclaimed and lightly hit him on the shoulder. She wasn't angry, or annoyed at him for leading her on there. She just couldn't believe he'd be so sneaky.
He looked around for a moment before looking back at her with a knowing look. "So something like this could happen."
"How did you even know I'd try and kiss you, hm?" Alma asked while slowly crossing her arms against her chest. Even with the position they were in she could still lay and look stern and serious.
David smirked, "I didn't. But that wouldn't mean I wouldn't have kissed you." He said while brushing hair behind her ear. He kept his hand against her cheek. Alma rested against it and smiled with a slow nod.
David continued to smile, he wasn't going to lie on the matter. Out of all experiences which he had so far in life, kissing Alma was right up there. He liked it, and he would definitely do it more often, Alma still held onto some concepts which he didn't agree with. The way he saw it, they both cared for each other. He freely had no problems to show that. She however seemed a bit more hesitant. David looked down at her, she wasn't looking so stern anymore, a content smile was on her face instead. David tilted her head up by cupping her cheek and kissed her again. He felt her relax, her arms uncrossed and she placed her hands on his shoulders. Trailing her hands up she wove them into his hair.
