Neither doctors seemed too interested in the quiet, hushed conversation that David and Alma were previously having before appearing; instead Charlie seemed more curious over whether there had been any successful transmissions between themselves and whoever may, or may not be down below.
"I'm sorry, no." David had replied to Charlie's inquiry with a pleasant, polite tone and a small smile and shake of his head. He hadn't exactly looked away from the see-through screen which was between them as he spoke. Other things flashed past and over, but as soon as they appeared they were gone as he glanced down at the keys in front of himself. His hands didn't exactly pause as he continued to type away.
"Maybe they didn't understand it." Charlie mused as he glanced to Elizabeth, she leaned her chin against her hand and nodded mutely. That could be it. Charlie's dark eyes slowly rolled and fixed back on the blonde. "How are your lessons going, David?" He seemed to ask in a slight smug and patronising tone. It seemed to not fathom to him that despite having possibly all knowledge possible ingrained within him, he still needed – and had room for – more information. Whichever the case, Charlie seemed to find some form of amusement in asking this question.
Elizabeth just looked curiously to David as he seemed to finally pause and look to the pair. "I spent two years deconstructing dozens of ancient languages to their roots. I'm confident I can communicate with them, provided your thesis is correct." He smiled, only just about keeping his own smug tone at bay. Two could play at this game. He just continued to smile while Charlie smirked and let out a quiet laugh, he glanced to Elizabeth for some sort of comeback, she just smiled and looked between the two of them. Even Alma sat looking close to laughing at the rather odd conversation which was happening between the two. It wasn't quite an argument, nor bickering in any form; it was just a very bizarre experience, full of Charlie's overly confident attitude and David's no nonsense blunt sarcasm.
"Provided it's correct? That's good." Charlie laughed, finding humour in the reply which was given.
David smiled, "That's why they call it a thesis, doctor." He tilted his head slightly and just continued to smile as he turned and slipped from the stool. He idly walked off not paying any mind to the doctors that he had left behind, though he did look over his shoulder to see the two interacting with Alma.
She laughed over something Elizabeth had said and waved her hand casually in the air. It seemed both females were joking over Charlie's expense and that he had been outwitted and beaten by David. He managed to get the last word in, and to avoid Charlie even attempting to say anything in return, he had disappeared from their company.
"All personnel, this is the Captain. Brace for entry."
Taking the cue everyone slowly made their ways towards their designated seats. David purposely drifted by where Alma was sitting just to make sure she was secured, she waved his hands away and pointed to a seat a little to the side of her. He took the hint and walked off before anyone really noticed that the one person he was making sure was fully strapped into their seat, was her.
"What is the atmosphere?" Captain Idris Janek voiced while the ship got slightly shifted about with the oncoming entry.
Benedict Ravel was checking through the system readings, which were appearing on the monitors in front of where he sat. "Atmosphere, seventy-one percent nitrogen, twenty-one percent oxygen; traces of argon gas." He read out and related in a simple tone.
"Woah!" Came the exclaim from Janek. "Now that's weather!"
"Just like home," Charlie had said while making sure that all the harnesses to his seat were secure, and he wasn't like to go shuttling off around the room.
