MERRY CHRISTMAS!! Have a fun-filled day and enjoy this chapter ;) 🎅🎄🎁
*****
I stand backstage and watch a Cody strums the final note on his guitar.
"Thank you, New Jersey!" he yells into his microphone. The girls in the crowd scream and cheer as he takes a step forward.
"Before I go, I have one final song to sing for you guys. This is a song that I wrote for my beautiful girlfriend, Jess. You all know who she is, right?"
There's a chorus of cheers before Cody extends his hand in my direction. "Come on, Jess, don't be shy."
I walk onstage and everyone cheers. I give them a wave before Cody takes my hand. One of the crew members brings out a stool and I sit down on it. It's been a month now that I've been on tour with Cody, so I'm quite used to what's been happening. I've had fans come up to me in the street and get a picture as well as been chased by paparazzi into cafés and restaurants. Of course, there are haters out there, and I've receive quite a bit of hate, but I try to ignore that as well as I can.
Cody starts singing the son he wrote for me, which I now call My Song. I realised a while ago that, as much as he wrote it for me, he did write some of it for his fans. His Angels.
When Cody finishes the song, I stand up and wait until Cody's finished thanking everyone for coming before taking his hand and following him offstage.
"You did well," I say as Jeff hands Cody a towel and bottle of water.
"Did I really?" he asks.
"Of course," I grab his arm to stop him from walking. "Did you see the fans? They loved it!"
Cody keeps walking, a lot more slowly this time. "Sorry, I'm just not having the best day."
I lean my head against his shoulder. "Don't worry about it." I don't know why I say that, because I know he'll worry about it anyway. Earlier today he received a phone call and he's been worrying about it since, but he won't tell me anything about it. I think he thinks that it affected his performance somehow but I didn't notice anything, as I'm sure nobody else did either.
Cody navigates me so that we end up outside, ready for the girls for the Meet and Greet to come out from the show.
"You did splendid out there tonight," Angie says to Cody, "Well done."
Cody hugs his Mum. "Thanks Mum."
At that moment, the chorus of screams from girls coming to the M&G come tumbling from around the corner, getting closer, closer, closer...
"Cody!" they scream as the come around the corner. Since we're in America, and I'm from Australia, they seem to have weird accents. I probably have a strange accent to them as well.
Cody starts signing autographs and taking photos with the girls. I stand back, arms crossed across my chest, enjoying the cool breeze. It's summer in Australia, but winter in America. Im wearing a trench coat that Cody bought me when I arrived in Los Angeles. It keeps me quite warm, but with the front open slightly, I'm allowing the breeze to cool me.
"Jess?" a girl with a shy voice asks me. She looks about seven years younger than me with dirty blonde hair and glasses. I look down a her.
"Yeah?" I ask her solemnly.
"Can I get a photo with you?" she holds out her camera for me to take a photo.
"Of course!" I say, "But you have to tell me your name."
"Emily," the girl says. I snap a photo with her and the photo come up on the screen.
"You're really beautiful, Emily," I say, "I love your glasses. And look at your smile."
A smile crosses Emily's lips as she walks away happily over to her family. Her Mum kneels down and listens to what Emily says to her, smiling and nodding. After about a minute, her mlMum stands up and walks over to me.
"Emily's a very happy girl right now, Jess," she says.
"I'm glad I made her happy then," I reply with a smile.
"You don't get it, Jess," the woman says, "Emily is a special child. I almost had a miscarriage with her."
My mouth opens wide as she continues.
"Emily is dyslexic, has ADHD and is very shy. She's bullied a lot by the other kids at her school. None of them know what it's like to have so many disabilities."
I close my mouth and smile, stuck for a reply.
Emily's mother notices my dilemma. "You don't need to say anything. I just wanted to say thank you. I think you've really boosted Em's self esteem."
She pats me on the shoulder and walks away. Cody comes up next to me.
He smiles. "What's so funny?"
I must e smiling sheepishly. "Nothing," I reply.
Cody smirks. "I know you're lying."
"Nothing's funny," I say, "really." I lower my voice to whisper. "That girl who came up to me has so many disabilities, is bullied a lot by the other kids at her school and is very shy. I didn't know any of that and I still made her happy."
Cody puts an arm around me and kisses my right temple. "Anyone would be lucky to have you, Jess."
I look up at him dreamily and peck his lips.
"Let's make some more people happy," Cody says, taking my hand and leading me to the crowd of people. We start signing autographs and taking photos with all the fans. Cody and I catch eyes many times, each time showing our love for each other whole-heartedly, and all the while making everyone around us happy.

So I hope you guys have a great Christmas. It may be Christmas Eve where you are but it is Christmas Day where I am (yay!). The present that surprised me the most was a Cody pen & poster with my name on them!! It was personalised but I probably loved it the most.
And for those Angels reading this, how do you feel about Cogi? I don't really know what to think about it. Of course, I'm happy for them, especially if Cody's happy but for some reason I don't really like Gigi. I do like her in a way though, if that makes any sense. Comment your Cogi feels below.
Again, Merry Christmas!!!
