When we got to Brighton, everyone on the bus unanimously agreed that we should go to the beach, if for no other reason than the fact that it was there, and the main attraction of the area. Even though it was winter and no one really wanted to go in the water, we all liked the idea of seeing the ocean between spending all our time in cities and clubs.

All five of us wandered towards the sea, jumpers on and still cold. Being the only one with long hair, Amy's blue locks were blowing all around her, occasionally hitting me, which she laughingly apologised for. The sea air was cruelly cold, which was to be expected in the middle of December.

"We could try paddling ...?"

"No thank you, Kyle, I have the ability to feel my body, and I'd like to retain that," I shot back at him, getting a laugh from the others.

"You say that, but you're always the cold one," Brian retorted.

"Which is why I keep you around to warm me up," I joked, putting my hands on his still warm cheeks. It took barely a second for him to react, stepping back and batting my hands away with a shout.

"Get married already,' Amy joked, her hands firmly in the pockets of her coat.

"I don't think being used as a human heater is a reason to get married,"

"Balanced temperatures, works year round," Claire pointed out. "I think it's a sign,"

"Or maybe it's not," Kyle interjected. I wasn't sure if he was being an ass or just trying to placate Brian, who was akwardly glancing at me. Fuck him either way, but fuck him slightly less if he was being nice.

A moment of silence blew around us in the whistling wind. The beach was pretty much empty besides an older woman walking her dog, which was understandable, because you'd have to be some kind of idiot to be freezing your ass off out here.

"Honestly, I have seen more than enough sea, and currently not enough Starbucks," Amy piped up, and I couldn't have agreed more.

"There's one just across the way, I saw it when we were walking over," Claire pointed in the general direction.

"I'm so down," I said, looking to Brian for his response. He gave a nod, and we all headed off to try and regain feeling in our hands through the powers of sugary hot drinks.
