I hadn't seen any practices for tonight's performance, so I had no clue what I would be watching. As soon as the familiar music started, and I heard the start of Ru's vocals, I couldn't help the smile that found it's way onto my face. It was the drag song of the moment, Read U Wrote U.
As Alaska's verse started up, the crowd chanted along, and I couldn't help but smile. Trixie was doing her usual dramatic style on the stage, mimicking Alaska and then Detox, mixing the performance we'd all done together in with her own. When Detox spelled out her name, Trixie dropped in time with the music, mirroring the original choreograohy and earning a loud scream from the crowd.
My heart was beating a little faster as I knew the verse I'd written was coming up. In all honesty, I was still proud of it, but I couldn't wait to see Trixie performing it. She pulled out a fan from her purse, in pink, of course, thwoorping it open as she synced along to my words, fluttering it in front of her with a smile in my direction.
There was something strangely nice about seeing Trixie perform to my words, and having so much fun with it.
She took my money whilst strutting around between the verses. Her fingers brushed across my cheek for a moment with an affectionate look, and I saw Brian breaking through the character for a second. A younger looking girl next to me squealed loudly. Then Trixie was gone, strutting back to the centre of the stage.
"I think she likes you," the random girl told me, shouting to, thankfully, drown out Roxxxy's verse. I wasn't sure if she'd recognised me or not, but I smiled slightly nervously nonetheless, before returning my focus to the show, where Trixie was syncing to the clip she'd replaced the offending verse with.
The final dollar. Now all I had to do was wait, and pray she figured it all out.
