"Merry Christmas!" I opened the door to reveal Sang-Young, the last guest at our Christmas party. He had brought snacks, as he always did, and headed off to the kitchen to put the food there.

Brisn and I had decided to invite all our friends over to celebrate Christmas with us, and now the flat that we'd bought together a couple of months before was buzzing with people. Willam, Justin and Shane were all egging each other into a drinking game in the crowded lounge, even though it was only coming up one pm. Roy, Danny and Jerick were having some sort of silly argument, and Aaron was laughing as he overheard them. Claire and Kyle had also been invited, but they had wanted to spend Christmas at home in England with their families.

I informed Amy that Sang-Young was here, and she hurried off to find him. The pair had become fast friends after we introduced them after Amy moved to America not long after the end of the UK tour.

I felt arms suddenly wrap around me from behind, bringing ne out of my thoughts, and a quick kiss was pressed to the side of my neck. I could feel blush rising in my cheeks, but I'd long given up on hiding it, especially after how many times my boyfriend had told me it was cute.

"Kim took over the food, so I came to find you," Brian told me, still holding me tightly.

I spun around in his arms to face him, noticing the mistletoe hung above us as I did. He followed where my eyes had landed, smiling as he pulled me in. We kissed, and I'm fairly sure I heard Willam yell "get in there!", but I was too lost in the moment to really care. Kissing Brian was my definition of perfect, and I loved that I got to do it every day.

It felt almost forever ago that we got together, but in reality it had been just over a year. I was the happiest I'd ever been, and I could barely imagine life without Brian as my wonderful boyfriend (it still made me smile to be able to at last call him that). It hadn't taken long to settle into our relationship, as it was a lot like us being best friends, only with more making out and less pretending we hadn't done it the next day.

Hand in hand, we mingled with our friends together, catching up with everyone. We were all constantly touring, so times like this when we all came together were special, making it a good excuse to indulge in some holiday cheer.

After everyone had eaten the food we'd prepared (with help from Kim), everyone sat around chatting in the lounge. I decided then was the time.

"Brian? I have something to ask you," I began.

A few pairs of eyes widened as the whole room went silent, everyone watching us. I knelt down in front of him, producing a small box from my pocket. I opened it, to reveal the gold band with a single diamond set in it that I had spent hours in the jewellery shop agonising over. I hoped he would like it, because it was the ring that had reminded me most of him.

"Brian, you have always been the one person who can make me laugh no matter what, and every day I spend with you just shows me how perfect you are. I know we've only been together for a year, but I can't imagine my life with anyone else. Will you marry me?"

Brian's eyes were wide, a look of genuine suprise on his face, which was pretty adorable.

"Oh, fuck!" He exclaimed, hurriedly getting up from his seat, and my heart jumped. What kind of response to being proposed to was that?!

"I love you babe, so much, I will be one second..." he told me, running out of the room. Everyone was silent as I stood up, feeling at least a little awkward, apart from Amy, who giggled, which was either reassuring or proof that she didn't deal well with awkward situations.

I was praying I hadn't just ruined Christmas for myself and all my friends when Brian ran back in, carrying a small box of his own. Carefully, he opened it, revealing an elegant silver band, and...

Oh. Now it all made sense. There were gasps and squeals from around the room as my smile grew.

"I was planning a really cute speech and everything!" He told me, the both of us grinning wildly now.

"So that is a yes, right?" I checked, gaining a laugh from our friends.

"Yes, you idiot!"

We quickly swapped rings, Brian giving me mine first. As I slid his ring onto his left hand ring finger, our friends cheered. I threw my arms around his neck and we kissed, utterly on top of the world.

This was exactly how my life was supposed to look.
