A few days before Valentines' day Ty flew to Chicago to spend time with TJ. They were both so busy there was a possibility that they would not spend Valentines' day together. So this was like a pre valentine's celebration.
Filming of Empire season wrapped up two weeks earlier than expected. The day after his arrival, they went to the show's wrap up party. The party was lit, good food, good company.
A song by Sean Paul came on and Ty and TJ we're doing the Kizomba dance, dancing so close together it was like they were the only two people in the room, they had eyes only for each other.

The following morning:
Ty and TJ were chilling together in bed. He was due to fly back to Atlanta later in the day as he was working on a few music projects there.
Ty jokingly wrote the following message on Instagram with a photo shopped picture of them in different beds.
"Yvette love call me back please - my heart ain't beating the same - love Jody"
He really wanted to shout on top of the world that they were together and that he was in love with her but he knew that it was best to keep everything on the down low. He could not wait to make her his wife.
When he had proposed before things had gone south fast, so he was gonna wait for a while before proposing again.
TJ was wondering why she was getting so many notifications on Instagram until she decided to check what the fuss was all about.
After she saw the message she hit Ty with a pillow "really, Ty you are such a trip?"
"What" he acted surprised.
"What I'm I gonna do with you Tyrese Gibson? You are so incorrigible "she faked irritation.
He kissed lightly on the lips and chuckled.
He then wrote the following message "shout out to my heart @therealtaraji , wherever you are, I love you deep"
Twitter and Instagram went crazy.
When TJ saw this one she just laughed so hard and kissed him passionately.
"Baby when are you gonna marry me though?" Ty asked.
"Let's wait a year or so " she said .
Ty smirked "ok babe, I love you. I can't wait make you mine and claim you publicly"
When. The fans saw these messages they went crazy. Some fans even asked TY if they were a couple.
His reply was No they are just best friends. He really wished he could be honest but that would mean opening themselves up to scrutiny from the media.
Ty could not believe just how blessed he was. He had loved her since that day in the year 2000 when she came for the Baby boy audition. He fell in love with her even more when he got to know her better. During the filming of Baby Boy, she refused to get with him because of work and the fact that he had a girlfriend was another reason. That made him lover her even more, she was such a woman of integrity.
They only got involved briefly in 2002 and after they broke up they remained best friends. He had been involved with countless women over the years but no one ever came close to TJ.
