"Just show me what you guys have so far." I said with a roll of my eyes. "Having only a single and.."
"Four songs." Louis imputed for me.
"Four songs and a single is not going to make an album."
"But you said you didn't want to help us." Niall reminded me.
"It's not that I don't want to help you. I said you didn't need my help but all of you are clearly in a writing funk." I exclaimed, looking around the room. Zayn was perched at the table, sketching away in his notebook that, according to Harry he never really shows anyone (I was glad to find out that Liam and I were exceptions). Niall was spread out on the floor, halfway under the table that Zayn was at and Louis was sitting just above him in an armchair, legs tucked under him as he tried to feed Niall popcorn by throwing it into his mouth. Harry was sitting next to me on the couch, his arm around me and Liam was sitting in the armchair just next to Louis.
"It's not a funk more of a.." Liam began.
"A block." Zayn said quietly from the table. I smiled at him softly.
"Zayn? Do you have something you'd want to share?" Zayn looks up at me startled and his cheeks turn red as the rest of the boys stare at him.
"I uh.." He stammers out.
"You don't have to. I'm just asking. I can probably give you guys something of mine." I grab up my backpack and pull out a notebook. "A lot of this is old though." I murmur.
"Old? How can it be old if you haven't shared it?" Niall asks. I laugh.
"I meant like old emotions. I think.. I have something I never finished in here." I flip through several pages trying to remember where I wrote the song and if it was good enough for One Direction. "Ha! I found it." I said stopping at a page titled 'Illusion'.
"So tell me you believe in love, it's not an illusion." Harry sings out, startling me. The rest of the boys immediately perk up as Harry grins at me. "I like that."
"Do you have more?" Liam asked.
"That's part of the unfinished bit." I said with a shrug. "I had ideas but I could never fit them altogether." Liam gets up and sits down on my right to look at the notebook.
"I been thinking about the nights and the dangerous tricks people play on the eyes of the innocent." Liam sings softly.
"Thank you for not singing it in my ear like my inconsiderate boyfriend." Harry hits my shoulder lightly as I say this. "And then there's this part, No baby this is not an illusion. I've really got my heart out on my sleeve." I sing out to him. "I could never tell if that was the chorus or not. And there's a bunch of other random scratches here." I shrug, handing over the entire journal to Liam.
"Hey Niall, get up." Liam says, going towards the table and kicking Niall's shoe. The blond haired boy sits up and with the help of Louis, stands. As Liam sits next to Zayn, Louis and Niall hover over him and look over his shoulder.
"I like this part." Niall points out.
"This part could use a bit of work but it's still pretty good." Louis continues.
"Hey, don't bash my song." I scold making them laugh. "Go over and help them Harry. Don't be a bump on a log." He sighs and kisses my cheek before getting up.
"Are you sure it's okay for us to take this?" Harry asks.
"Yeah, so long as you put my initials in the writing bit boys. I could care less. It'll be good to put a song of mine into action." Zayn eyes me from his seat at the head of the table. He bits his lip nervously before closing up his sketchbook and helping the others with the song.
