They sing out the last note of What Makes You Beautiful and I smile, clapping for them off to the side of their practice space. The boys chuckle and begin to talk amongst themselves as I walk over. I smirk at Harry.
"You messed up a line in there."
"No I didn't." He lied.
"Yes you did. I heard it loud and clear. It's been four years and you just messed up your most well known song. How does that make you feel." Harry rolled his eyes, putting his arm around me and pulling me closer to him so he could whisper,
"Behave or I'll have to take care of that smart mouth of yours."
"And how would you fix that?" I whisper back.
"Oh I don't think you want to know." As if on cue, I hear Louis groan from the other side of the room.
"Enough with the whispered foreplay you two!" He shouts. Harry and I turn to face him and despite my best efforts, I blush red as I say,
"And what gave you the slightest indication that we were talking about anything remotely obscene?" Louis rolls his eyes while Niall, Zayn and Liam snicker into their hands.
"Oh please, you two haven't been able to keep your hands off one another since the story broke." It was true, there was no denying it. Harry and I waited a week after his confession to start openly showing affection to one another in public. The attention the boys received from our relationship was astronomical and it made me laugh to think that management didn't want me to be seen with him because I wasn't "news worthy".
"Well, she is my girlfriend." Harry reminded Louis, as if he needed it.
"I know and since I know both of you, I also know that you two do not whisper cute things to each other." Harry and I laugh, though mine is more nervous than humorous.
"How dare you accuse me of anything except being absolutely ladylike." I tell him. Louis waves me away as they're called back to rehearse their new songs. I head back to my faithful sofa that I had claimed since arriving at this rehearsal space and relax into the cushions as I watch them perform.
I have always loved seeing them in concert. They sound just as beautiful live as they do in the studio but their live performances have more pizzaz, so to speak. They're extravagant with lots of colorful lights and cool backdrops and I'm excited about this years performance because it'll be their first time performing in stadiums. Massive, sporting event stadiums and as Harry has told me, some of them are already completely sold out which is baffling to say the least.
They're touring with that same band of misfit boys from last year. Five Seconds of Summer. I hadn't seen them in over a year but they had been doing pretty well for themselves. Thanks to One Direction, they had gained a pretty large following of fans and Harry had told me optimistically that after this tour, they could probably branch off on their own headline tours.
"They're great guys. It's cool watching other people succeed you know?" I had smiled at that because it was true. It's why I'm always so proud of the boys. They've come so far from the five guys I met at the beachside campground. They're almost unrecognizable now. My phone rang in my pocket and I pulled it out to read the Caller ID. I smiled as I answered the phone.
"Hey, what's up?" Meghan huffed into the receiver.
"Can you come yell at this security guard for me. He's barring us from coming in because we're not on some damn list to let us enter the building." I laughed a little.
"I'm not going to yell Meghan. What entrance are you at?" I asked, standing up. I heard her ask the security guard what entrance it was and she quickly relayed it to me. "I'll be right there."
