(One month later)
My pack and I laid in the sun, resting after hunting all night. It had not taken much to reform my clan into the way of the wolf, and now I searched for those Ketsueki told me to hunt. It was an amazing rush! Sometimes we would destroy little villages, and other times we would hunt down powerful shinobi. Currently, we were to hunt down someone named Kakashi, a man with silver hair. The name was familiar to me, but it couldn't be that important if I did't have a face to put with it. The weather was also changing to our benefit, dark and cloudy with a storm on the way. Perfect for killing.... I stood and stretched, motioning with my tail for the others to rise as well. As the sun disappeared, so did we into the shadows of the large red wall.

"You need guards with you," Kakashi said as he paced nervously in Minato's office. Something wasn't right, he could feel it. Kushina's baby was due any day, and Minato refused to let anyone be around.
"I need you in the village, Kakashi. Please trust me on this." The young shinobi sighed and threw up his hands in frustration, but it wasn't because of Minato. Kakashi felt, deep in his soul, that something was wrong with Yuri, and he just wanted something to do.
"Yes, sir," he muttered as he bowed and left. The weather had taken a major turn while he was in there, and now the wind blew fiercely as dark purple clouds ran across the sky. There was an odd scent around, one that set Kakashi on edge even more.

It was finally dark enough for us to hide along the top of the wall. We crawled along, our bellies brushing the rough wood, surveying the large village beneath us. There were many smells, most familiar and some foreign, but I trusted Ketsueki would guide us to the correct one. My mouth watered just at the mere thought of a kill. As we waited, night fell and the clouds blew away to reveal a full moon. I smiled at our luck. This was the best lighting to hunt under. Suddenly, there was an explosion from outside the wall, in a heavily forested area. A monstrous roar set my fur on end and I watched with wide eyes as a large fox emerged from the smoke. I heard Ketsueki scream in my mind, but her hold on me broke as I made eye contact with the demon.
"Kushina," I whispered as I suddenly sprinted towards the beast. My pack mates called out, but I demanded they leave this place immediately. They obeyed without question as I ran jumped from tree to tree. The demon had turned its attention to the village, so I easily slipped under its feet and into the odd temple like structure. The sight before me made me freeze. Minato was barely breathing, but Kushina was dead. I ran over to them, turning human again, and knelt next to him. He opened his eyes and smiled slightly.
"Oh, Yuri, back already?" He started coughing up blood and I went to try and heal him a little, but we waved my hands away. "I want to be with my wife," he said quietly.
"But, what about your baby?" I asked as tears ran down my face. He reached up and drew something on my face with his own blood.
"His name is Naruto, and you're his godmother. Please take good care of him." Then he pushed himself to his feet, and with his waning strength, sealed the demon in the baby. He collapsed then, with a smile on his face. I wasn't sure who was crying more, the baby who knew nothing, or me who saw it all. I cradled him, where he eventually fell asleep, and that's how they found us. While the others fussed over the corpses, Saratobi Hiruzen pulled me to my feet. I was still crying, and refused to let go of Naruto.
"Yuri," he whispered, causing me to look at him. "Let me have the baby for now, while you go grieve. Take as long as you need, and use Minato's note whenever you come back. You still aren't well, are you?"
"His name is Naruto," I muttered as he scooped the baby out of my arms. I fell to my knees, and cried there until dawn, when my pack found me. They all tried to comfort me, but I was beyond comfort now.
