Chapter 3

Calem's POV

"Hey Guys!"

"Hey Calem!" They all reply back. I have a big group of friends. There's Serena, Misty, May, Dawn, Iris, Cilan, Clemont, Paul, Drew, Kenny, Gary, Barry and Korrina.

(Again, they all look like they do in the anime.)

"So, ready for this battle?" asked Kenny

"Hell yeah, this one will be a walk in the park."

"I don't think being this confident is good for you." said Cilan as he sweat dropped.

"Don't worry man, I got this. I saw the guy earlier today and all he had was unevolved Pokemon"

Serena's POV

"Really? That's pathetic." said Paul. Well... that was expected from Paul.

"He did have one evolved Pokemon... though it was just a Pikachu." said Calem

I saw Gary's head make a sharp turn from the corner of my eye when Calem said this but I decided to ignore it for now.

"Good Luck Calem. Enjoy yourself out there!" I said while giving him a kiss on the cheek.

"Thanks Serena." He replied with a wide grin.

As Calem made his way though the tunnel to the battlefield, I turned around to see Gary smirking. This got me really curious so I spoke up.

"Gary, why are you smirking?"

"Oh, don't worry. Just know that this battle might shock all of you. You too Misty and Dawn!" Gary said. Now I was very curious.

"What do you mean by that?" Asked Dawn

"This is just Gary being Gary." Said Misty who had a blank face on.

"Come on guys, lets get to the seat! If we miss the start, I'm going to fine every single one of you!" said Barry as we all sweat dropped.

We were waiting for Ash to arrive. He was supposed to be here 10 minutes ago and Calem seemed quite annoyed that he was late.

We made our way onto the seats. KIT has a massive stadium as it often holds matches between the Elite 4 and the Champions of different regions. Right now, school was over and being the first day, nobody really had any homework so almost everybody was present... including the teachers. There is a VIP box at the other side of the battlefield where very important people, often the Champions, sit and watch. To my astonishment, it was full today. There were 6 people in there. I recognised Diantha. She is the Champion of Kalos. The other 5 I didn't realise... until Gary spoke up.

"WHAT THE F..."He stopped and then continued "Those are the Champions! Lance, Drake, Steven, Cynthia, Alder and Diantha!"

"WHAT!?" WE all exclaimed at once.

"Calem must have caught their attention. After all, he is the best trainer in the school!" I said feeling proud of him. What Gary said next really caught me off guard.

"I don't think Calem is the one they are watching today. I'm not completely sure though..." he said.

I was about to say something but Paul cut me off.

"If you think that they are here to watch someone whose strongest Pokemon is a Pikachu then you're as pathetic as that trainer!" he said.

Knowing Gary, we would go absolutely mental if anyone hurt his ego by calling him pathetic... but to mine and everybody else's surprise, he sat there, looking straight ahead smirking.
