Part One: Newly Crowned
Act One's Veiw Point: Crownbearer
Chapter Three

Quickly, everyone turned their attention across the red river and to the big rock. A black shape of a NightWing loomed over it. He had a smile and immediately when Crownbearer heard his thoughts she brightened up so much her chest actually tightened up. The NightWing lifted his head up proudly.

"Guess what my little newbies? I have some exciting news!" He curled his tail in happily. Crown saw Coyote roll his eyes.

"You didn't give us time to guess." Coyote mumbled loudly. The NightWing giggled and sighed.

"That's because I'm so excited!" He said. "Your the selected dragonets to go to... JADE MOUNTAIN ACADEMY!! Isn't that amazing!?! I MEAN, it took a LOT of manipulating, patience, and selective help. It's not like we can just waltz over to the queens and say, 'hey, these dragonets that you've never meet before- or atleast haven't seen a lot- are gonna go to Jade Mountain Academy instead of your other dragonets, 'kay?' We couldn't go to Jade Mountain Academy every day, or else they'd contact the queens for permission and we'd get found out and yeah. By the way, I know your all excited (everyone's smiling and bouncing) but your gonna have to follow some rules." He sent a glance at Crownbearer, which was weird. Then a glance at Omega, which was not weird. "Remember, only the loyal NightWings, one RainWing that we know is going currently, and a few other 'wings are going. Gotta be careful who hears or suspects you. Stay safe, stay secret. Pretend you've been together since you were young. Nightlifter's going too, to act as your parental figure. He's gonna be in the Quartz Winglet, I think."

Whispers and murmurs broke into the clearing, minds buzzing with curiosity. Only Sharpfangs and Littletail had been out out. The rest had gone on "very strictly guarded and carefully watched hunting sessions" but that was it.

"What about Omega?" A quiet but sharp voice interrupted the chatter. All heads turned to the voice, Angler the SeaWing. Then, to Omega. Instantly, "yeah, what about him?"s where flown across the room. Bitter chipped in with a, "Is he going as IceWing or RainWing?" Immediately the cave got quiet and every head turned to the NightWing. The NightWing took a deep breathe and closed his eyes.

"He's going as an IceWing. It would of been more suspicious and difficult to get him in as a RainWing. More RainWings are willing to go to school, and not many RainWings have left the rainforest to be in reach of the cold IceWings. It'd be... suspicious."

Crownbearer felt pity for Omega. He was a RainWing-IceWing hybrid. He had the body shape of a RainWing, with the flaps on his head to match, and their wings. He could change the color of his scales too. But he had white spikes of an IceWing on his head and their piercing eyes, sharp fangs, and rough talons. His RainWing venom was coated with cold ice and it made the venom hard, though once it scraped your skin, the venom melted through the ice and had the same effect as normal venom. Not only was Omega the only hybrid in the underground group, an IceWing-RainWing at that, he was even named for it. Omega. Lowest rank in the pack.

Crown noticed Cassiopeia give Omega a supportive nudge.

"Shadowseep, when do we leave?" Crown piped up. Shadowseep opened his eyes and noticeably brightened up at the change of subject.

"You leave in two days. Now, I gotta make sure you all heard me. Crownbearer, Muskrat, Coyote, Sun, Cassiopeia, Oncidium, Gurgle, Bitter, Angler, Snapfangs, Littletail, Omega, Nightlifter?" Shadowseep questioned. At their names, everyone said, "Here!" Shadowseep nodded. He shouted a "Have fun!" as he turned around and leaped of the rock, flying away to who knows where.

'Two days!' Crownbearer thought. 'I'm so excited!'
