Chapter 13

Kylee POV

It felt like I had been experiencing the vile man's memories for an eternity when I felt a cold rush of air and Jessica appeared in the car seat beside me. "Wow, that was disorienting... Kylee!!" She laughed. I lunged at her and pushed her down in the seat. "Why the fuck are you here??!!" I screeched. She looked confused for a moment then answered me "I came to help you get through this vile man's memories." I didn't have a chance to answer before the car impacted with the semi-truck.I groaned as the cars made impact and I felt my ribs cracking as well as hearing Jessica's crack as well.I groaned and sat up in the car and started healing Jessica. She groaned and sat up and gave me that "look" that she gives me when she is silently plotting to kill me. I gave her a smirk and said " Aren't you happy that you came?" "Thrilled" she replied sarcastically. I grimaced as I sat fully up and I glared at Jessica when she punched me on my shoulder. "What was that for?" "For being stupid because you healed me instead of not your fucking self. Saint Kylee,always has to put other before herself despite being a demon." She kept grumbling as she healed me. I replied with a snarky "Maybe I'm an angel in disguise?" Yet again I glared at her when she punched me on the shoulder. "Alright let's go." She got up and started climbing into the ambulance taking the man away. I glared and got in just as the ambulance sped away.

Duncan POV

I watched in horror as Jessica fell after she was sucked into the vision that Kylee was experiencing. Arran caught her and I ran into the kitchen getting all the healing ointments and creams and brews that they had. As I ran back into the living room Arran gave me a strange look. "Always good to be prepared." I said breathlessly. He nodded and started to apply the bruising cream along Kylee's bruises all over her body as I did the same to Jessica. I flinched when Kylee's ribs let out a loud crack I wondered if the same would happen to Jessica. Soon after I thought that Jessica's ribs followed Kylee's example. But what surprised us was when Jessica's ribs were swallowed in an inky black smoke and I recognized the magic as tenebris magicae or dark magic which meant that Kylee was healing my little angel.Then we heard bones being set back in place. When the smoke cleared her ribs were fully healed.
