Mason

Today was the day.

June 17th. I was heading back to Arizona, to see Bex.

Now, two years later, we had finally graduated from High School, and by some untold miracle, had stayed together all that time.

I couldn't wait to see her. The last time we'd been together had been Spring Break, and we both knew it had already been too long.

Rebecca

I missed him so much, it was insane. I never believed we could have made it this far, only seeing each other a few times a year, but I guess that showed you the power of love, right?

My Mom had met someone, ultimately, and as much as I loved my Dad, Simon was a great guy who seemed to love my Mom as much as my Dad did. I knew my Mom loved Simon, maybe not as much as she loved Dad, but as much as she could given the circumstances.

I walked out into the yard to see Shannon, and Matt and Finn lazing around on garden chairs.

"Hey Becca, why do you look so happy?" Matt asked laughing, knowing that I had been gloomy ever since Spring Break when Mason had visited.

"Could it be that someone's gorgeous boyfriend is visiting again? Permanently?" Shannon squealed and Finn pouted.

"Come on babe, I'm right here!" Shannon leaned over the armrests and kissed him square on the mouth.

One year into the relationship and they were still in the honeymoon period- sharing sloppy kisses in public and constantly touching.

"I love you," she giggled when they'd pulled back.

"Mmm, I love you more," Finn responded, grinning.

"Well, I love you-"

Matt cut her off. "Yeah, well I hate both of you. Enough with the couple crap! Becca and Mason never did this when they were together!"

"Well, we're in love Matt! You can't hide us."

Needless to say, I left them to bicker among themselves, and went back into my house.

Mason

After a speedy trip across never ending states and bland highways, I finally pulled up in front of her house, nervous and anxious and excited.

"Mason!" she said happily as I walked up the driveway. She launched herself into my arms, tangling her fingers in my hair as we kissed. "I missed you," she murmured into my mouth.

"Me too, Beautiful. But think about it. In two months we'll be sharing an apartment and going to the same college." She squealed.

I knew that being with Bex had showed me a lot of things. Like maybe love didn't always have bad results, and maybe instead of breaking hearts, it fixed them.

There was still a lot Bex and I had to learn, but I was content to know that we'd be learning it together. That was what love was - blindly wandering through, not knowing what you'll run into until it happens. Love is a leap of faith, flying off a cliff, soaring through midair, not knowing where you will land but trusting, nonetheless, that you'll land somewhere beautiful, eventually.

The End.
