Chapter 15- The Vocal Coach

As you near your friends house memories with Luke replay in your head, you remember when you went to that club and danced like crazy to the music and when you jumped into the freezing cold river for no reason!

You smile to yourself, but the smile soon fades. That wasn't too long ago. Things have changed so fast. You remember when you and Luke wrote that song at his house....

Stop. Stop. Stop.

You tell yourself, there's nothing you can do about this now. You have to get Luke's vocal coach back, his dreams are more important.

The car comes to a sudden halt , jutting you out of your daydream.

"Well here we are, be quick I need to get home and unpack properly!" Says your mum as you climb out of the car.

"Il be as fast as I can " you say, nervous about what's going to happen.

You walk up to the front door of your friends house. You reach for the doorbell and press it cautiously.

No answer.

They're probably not in,you think , you go to run back to the car but stop yourself. You're doing is for Luke, forget the past, be brave.

Before you get a chance to make up your mind the door suddenly swings open.

"Wha-what are you doing ... Here?" Says your friend shocked at your arrival.

Without thinking you explode into conversation "I'm really sorry you were dragged into that argument, I didn't mean for it to happen I had no idea about Lucy, PLEASE I'm so sorry, I need your help I, I, I, -"

"Ok OK!!!" Your friend replies looking at you in shock but with a tint of happiness in their eyes. "I forgive you, it wasn't your fault about Lucy... You didn't know. But -... She's not happy, she said she never wants to speak to you again..." Says your friend noticing your car behind you.

"Well , well, FINE!" You say in annoyance " I don't even know why she's so annoyed anymore!" You say,tears starting to swell in your eyes.

Your friend gestures for your mum to go home , saying you can stay round theirs , you turn to your mum and she waves to you and calls out of the window "I'll see ya later! Don't be too long ok!"

You wave back unable to say anything in worry that you will burst into tears.

You're doing it for Luke.

"Come on in, we need to talk, I got your text." Says your friend as they shut the door behind you.

"So what's this about my mums new mate?" Says your friend trying to change the subject as they make you a drink.

"Well, your not going to Believe this, but it turns out she's an XFactor vocal coach..." You say , awaiting a reaction.

"She's what! As if, I means she said she works in Tv but like , how is that possible?!" Says your friend spilling the drink they were pouring all over the floor.

"Well, the XFactor vocal coach had a car crash, and then stayed with the person she crashed into cause her husband and her are not getting on , doesn't that fit the description!!" You say excitedly.

"OMG it must be her, the XFactor vocal coach HAS BEEN STAYING IN MY HOUSEEEEE!!!!!!" They scream jumping up and down, you join in until you both run out of energy and slump down on her sofa.

"So wait, why did you say it was urgent you speak with her??!!" Says your friend,reading the texts you sent her on the way to her house.

"Well, it's, it's um... About Luke... You see none of the contestants will be able to perform on the show saturday if the vocal coach doesn't return... So I wanted to speak to her..." You say looking at the floor.

" well then, we better speak to her, we can't have your Luke missing out on his dream can we" says your friend smiling at you but with a hint of sadness in their eyes.

"I'm so glad you understood, I was so worried!" You cry,swinging your arms around them hugging them. " oh and he's not my Luke, he's our Luke , after all... We are the biggest fans ever!" You say trying to cheer your friend up.

"I suppose, I'm so glad we've made up! You just need to sort out Lucy now..." Says your friend hugging you back.

" right ok, so this vocal coach... She and my mum went shopping, so we need to go find them!" Your friend says running to grab her shoes.

"Well let's go, if the vocal coach doesn't agree to go back on XFactor today, it will be too late..." You say running after your friend frantically.

Before you have time to think about what your going to say to the vocal coach, you are already in the shopping centre, searching for your friends mum. You can't help but see clothes that you think Luke would love and you have to constantly stop yourself from thinking about him...

"THERE, I SEE THEM, QUICK!" Your friend cries making everyone around you stare at you both, you feel yourself blush but you don't care, you run in the direction of the vocal coach whilst your friend screams at her loudly.

"STOP,RIGHT....there" says someone behind you, grabbing your shoulder and almost knocking you off your feet.

"LUCY? What, why are you here?" You cry in utter shock and confusion.

Great this is just what you need...

"Ive been....Speaking, to your vocal coach friend, because it just turns out, she knows luke! What a coincidence..." She smiles at you slyly before pushing your shoulder, you push her back determined not to let her win, you need to speak to the vocal coach before it's too late and you're not going to let Lucy win. You never did anything wrong, you didn't know Lucy had dated Luke...

"Luke will never love you like he loved me, ever, you're not good enough, he probably only wants you cause your desperate and he will dump you after the XFactor has finished!" Lucy shouts narrowing her eyes and glaring at you with envy.

"Me and luke,we-we..." You stutter.

"Spit it out!" Lucy replies angrily.

"I LEFT LUKE, OK , I didn't want to stop him getting his dreams, SO I LEFT. HE MEANS SO MUCH TO ME BUT YOU CLEARLY WOULDN'T UNDERSTAND BECAUSE YOU CANT HAVE EVER REALLY LOVED HIM!" You shout as tears once again well up in your eyes.

"Well...- then, ugh, just go away,and don't think this is over!" Lucy stutters as she swiftly turns in the other direction as an attempt to hit you with her hair, before storming off. You turn around to reveal your friend and the vocal coach staring at you in shock.

"I told her everything , she said no at first, but then she saw how much Luke meant to you" Says your friend as you smile awkwardly at the vocal coach.... They heard everything...

"Ok, let's do this" Says the vocal coach as she smiles back at you.

You stare at the vocal coach and your friend in shock, thoughts of Lucy disappear and all you can think about is you've done it.

You've done it for Luke.
