It was like the time was passing by in slow motion. It felt like the clock was standing still. Like Mirko have already been sitting here for more than thousand of hours. But wait: He actually did.
It was a year ago when Valeria left Roma for going on Tour with the famous Italian Band Dear Jack. Mirko was so proud of her and he had told her every single time he was calling her on her phone. Every day. And if they had not been able to have a call, they had written text messages. At the beginning of the Tour they had done this everytime. But from time to time Valeria had not been able to answer him directly. She had been through a lot of stress and for Mirko the time had seemed to pass by slower everyday. Until today! Because today was the day! After more than thousand hours of waiting for Valeria she was coming back. This afternoon. And Mirko was already sitting here since school was over. He was so excited to see her, to talk to her face to face, to see her smile in real and not on a picture like the whole last year and to taste her lips on his own again. He still remembered the taste of her kisses and the smell of her hair. They tasted like strawberrys and her brown hair were filled of this summer-breeze-smell. That kind of smell when you are standing in front of the blue sea, breathe and just feel free because you know, that everything is going to be fine in the summer. Valeria's hair had this kind of smell. And she had this special power to calm you down just with a single look into her ocean-blue eyes and a smile of her strawberry-red lips glowing like the sun during a sunset.
Mirko had to smile when he thought about his amazing and wonderful girlfriend that would be here next to him just in a few minutes. Then he would be able to smell this summer-breeze again and to look on the ocean by looking in her perfect eyes. Her soft skin was as warm as the sand on the beach...She was like a perfect day in the summer. And Mirko knew that with Valeria on his side he would always have this summer feeling he loved that much. Even in the winter.
Nervously he was drawing some sketches on his block. But they were bad and boring. Just like the other drawings and graffities he did the last year. Since Valeria was on Tour with this band his inspiration was gone. Like she had taken it away from him. Like she was his inspiration.
Daniel had often told him to forget about her and had said that she isn't worth it to spend the whole day with thinking about her. Mirko knew that it ahd not been easy for Daniel to have a best friend who had been out of space because he felt love sick. But that would change today!
"The train from Venezia will arrive in one minute!"
No: It would change in one minute!
The voice had talked about Valeria's train. Her last concert had been in Venezia and now the train was arriving in Roma. She was arriving in Roma again. In one...Wait! One minute?
"Only one minute left?!", Mirko screamed and wrapped up all his stuff - messy like hell. He started running as fast as he could. First the time had been passed so slowly and now he was running out of it. While he had been thinking about Vale, he had fogotten everything. Typical situation!
The train station was full of people, but he fought his way out of this big crowed until he arrived at the train stop he was looking for. The train was already there. A long one and Valeria could be in every single wagon. It would take a long time to find her, but he was too motivated to give up now! So he began to run down the train stop. The place was filled with people leaving the train. Other people greeted them with hugs and kisses. Some people cried of happiness and Mirko thought about how Valeria would react when they see eachother again. He didn't even know how he would react. He just knew that as long as he was looking for her his heart was beating faster and faster. He had dreamed of this every single night since she had gone.
Mamma mia, he was so in love that it scared him.
While he was running he crashed in a lot of people because he was so nervous and excited. He couldn't take his eyes off the wagons. His hands were shaking and sweating. The last time he had felt like that was one year ago, when he surprised Valeria during her concert to confess his feelings to her. That was...
Wait! A girl with brown hair, a red case and a blue backpack. Mirko's heart started jumping up and down. He wasn't allowed to loose her so he tried everything to keep his eyes on her. Was it her?
He saw how she turned around and looked a little bit helpless. There was no way that it wasn't her. This cute way she looked around was definitly unique. Only Valeria Munoz could do it like that.
"Valeria!", Mirko yelled as loud as he could, "Vale!"
It was to noisy to hear him so he wanted to come closer to try it again. But in the moment he opened up his mouth to call her name again Valeria turned around again to hug another boy leaving the train. Mirko stopped. Held on his breath. He would never forget the face of this boy. Or maybe he should call him a man. That's the way he would call hisself and a thing that would always be an advantage for this "man". Marco. A cool beard and a behavior like a real gentleman. Those things all women love.
Mirko's heartbeat got faster. But now because of anger. What was this guy doing here?
Valeria smiled at Marco and hugged him more than friendly. Much more than that.
Yes, Mikro got jalous. A lot! And everybody could understand it: For a short time Marco was Valeria's boyfriend, when Mirko and she had this big fight one year ago. And even though Valeria had decided to be with Mirko, he was still jalous. But he tried to deny it. For Valeria. Because he didn't want to fight with her again. Not today!
"Mirko!", he heard a lovely voice shouting. Confused he lifted up his head and looked into those wonderful and bright eyes. Marco was gone and his girlfriend was still standing ten meters away from him. Finally she noticed him. Finally!
Valeria smiled brighter than before when she said goodbye to Marco and her eyes started growing.
There it was. This feeling. Like you were standing in front of the sea!
Mirko could not fight against his feelings and the smile in his face. There she was. After one year that felt like eternity. Like it would never end. But here she was. Giving him the best feeling in the world.
"Valeria", he said hypnotized and began walking towards her.Even Valeria could not believe that she finally met him again. Mirko, the boy who made her feel like somethinf special even though he was so much younger. Sometimes it was hard for her to handle it but those doubts flew away when she looked into his deep brown eyes and saw all those true feelings he felt for her. He didn't have to say a word to show her how much he loved her. One look and she knew it.
With a big smile she started walking and got faster with every single step until she could fell into his arms. She could not describe how much she had missed this feeling of saftey during the tour. It had been an amazing experience travelling around the world and dancing in front of thousand people. But even though she had have a lot of things to do she had missed her boyfriend a lot.
"Vale", he whispered with his soft voice and hugged her even more.
"I missed you so much", she said while pressing her cheek on his chest to hear the beat of his heart. This was like a dream. A dream she had dreamed a lot of times the last year. It didn't matter if she had slept on a bus, in a hotel in Spain or backstage on a concert. She had dreamed about this every night. But it had not made her said. No, it had pushed her because those dreams had been the best dreams of all!
After a while she broke the hug to look into his deep brown eyes. He hasn't changed. His hair was curly, his eyes filled with truth and love and his smile was just that sweet like one year ago. And his voice? It sounded like music: "I missed you too. A lot."Mirko knew that he had been missing her more than just a lot. But he didn't know how to express those feelings in words so he leaned in to give her a kiss. To show what he felt and also to sense this amazing feeling. To feel her soft lips on his. To feel the whole pefect summer day.
But before there lips could touch for the first time after thousand of years her cellphone started ringing.
Valeria stucked and as fast as Mirko could react she accepted the call: "Hello?"
Mirko was confused. They had just met eachother again and without thinking about this Valeria picked up the phone. She didn't even care about it.
"Yes, it's me, Valeria. I am in the city again. The train just arrived. Yes, I will be there in a few minutes. You can count on me. See ya'!"
Hecticly she hung up and looked at Mirko apologetically: "I am sorry, Mirko. But I have an important meeting with the producer of the movie."
"Movie?", Mirko asked uncertain.
"Didn't I tell you?"
While he was thinking she has alredy answered to her own question: "I have the chance to be one of the dancer in a new movie."
"Wow...Congratulation!"
That was the only thing Mirko was able to say. He was still confused and Valeria acted hecticly so it was hard to follow her.
"Thanks."
For a moment she stopped her movement and looked at her boyfriend with a lovely smile. But it didn't hold on for a long time. Because now the time was running again. Why did this always happen in the wrong situations?
"But anyway! I have to go now! I am sorry but..."
"Valeria, it's okay", Mirko interrupted her with a smile, because he could not deny that she acted really cute, "It is a big...opportunity for you. You don't have to give me any explaination."
She smiled relieved and gave him a little kiss. A quick kiss. It felt like their lips did not even touched so Mirko was not able to taste this stawberry flavor. Not even a little bit.
"Ciao!", she said and turned around to find the next exit. Mirko was still so confused and shocked by this situation that he reacted very late. "Wait, Vale! Do you have plans for tomorrow evening?", he yelled. Luckily she stopped and looked back.
"No, not at all!", she grinned, "But maybe now I do!"
Mirko smiled back and let her go. He watched her running away and taking the next taxi like a real business-woman. That was strange. Like this whole situation had been. Their first meet after all this time had not been like he had thought it would be. Like he had dreamed it. It was completely different like he had expected.
