"Mirko, where are we going?", Valeria asked with a laughter because Mirko's hands closed her eyes and she had no idea what to do and where they were going. Mirko had told her to wait in front of her house so he could catch her up for the date he planned. But she had never thought that she had to walk more than five minutes seeing nothing. Okay, it was already dark because Valeria had have to do some stuff so they had not been able to meet up that early, but it was a different feeling to walk through Trastevere in the moonlight or to walk with closed eyes.
"Don't be that curious!"
Curious? She wasn't only curious. She had fear too. She hated loosing the controle about her own body. That was a disease of dancer because it was the one thing they need the most.
"And don't be scared", Mirko whispered with a soft voice that made her smile. Why did he know that she was scared? She didn't tell him.
"I am not scared!"
She didn't even know why she was saying this. She was the girl and it was no problem if the girl was scared. Maybe it was this strange feeling again that she was ten years older than he was. But she didn't only think about those ten years. He was 17 and she 27. If they were 25 and 35 that would be okay. But he was a teenager. Wasn't it strange?
"Do you trust me?", Mirko suddenly asked and took here right hand while covering her eyes with the other one. In the moment his fingers touched her hand, Valeria forgot about everything she had thought. There was this feeling of safty again and she did not know why she had those doubts about their relationship. Because if it's love it's okay.
And there was only one correct answer to give: "Yes, I trust you."
She did not see it but she could feel that there build up a little smile on Mirko's lips. She loved that. When he was proud to give her what she needs.
"Perfect", he said, "Because there are only a few meters left."
Valeria felt her heart beating against her chest and she held the hand of her cute boyfriend a little bit stronger. She was nervous. A lot! And it was only Mirko who could make her feel that way. When she had been in the train back to Roma she had felt this too. Marco had been talking the whole time but she had not been able to listen. Her thoughts had been right here next to Mirko. One year was a long time that had passed by very slowly. It was toture waiting for this moment when she was able to wrap her arms about his neck again.
"Okay, you can stop."
She didn't wait. Just stopped and smiled because there was only one second left before...
"There is a new message for you!"
Valeria wised when she heard this female voice. First she was confused because she thought they were alone. But when there was this creepy sound and a man began to talk she know exactly what this was about.
"Valeria, it's me, Marco!
"What?", Mirko asked irritated when Vale broke there connection so she could take her phone out of her bag.
"I hope you did not forget our meeting today? It is very important. See ya later, bye."
The meeting! Valeria totally forgot about this! It was a meeting with the other dancers of the movie. They planned it yesterday because now they have to work more than 3 months together and want to know more about eachother befor they would start the movie. Valeria knew that it was today but when Mirko had asked her to catch her up at seven o'clock she had only been able to think about their date. Nothing else.
But Mirko did not care about this. He only cared about this meeting: "A meeting? Again? With Marco?"
"It isn't a real meeting. You know I took this chance to be part of this new dance movie", Valeria explained, "And today I will meet up with the other dancers."
"And Marco?"
"Marco is also a part of this movie and...Wait a moment. Are you jalous?"
When she asked that Mirko started acting nervously and got a little bit shy. It was already the answer to her question but Mirko tried to cover up his feelings: "No! I am not! I am..."
"You are jalous", Valeria laughed and took his hand to show him that it wasn't that bad, "But that's cute, you know?"Mirko calmed down a little bit by looking into her ocean-blue eyes. She was so perfect. She was this perfect day of summer and he could not say it enough times. He was fascinated by this woman and proud to call her his girlfriend. So...he wasn't able to be angry at her too. One smile of her and all of his anger was blew away.
"So I am cute?"
"Yes, you are."
"You too", he smerked and pulled her closer. Now it was Valeria looking a little bit ashamed. And sweet. But when Mirko right before he could connect her lips with his own, she pushed him away carfully: "Mirko, I am so sorry, but I really have to go now. I don't want the others to think that I am arrogant."
"But..."
"No, Mirko, I can't!"
It wouldn't help if he would try to stop her. She would go anyway and he knew that. So he let her go. Again.
"I am sorry!"
With those words she turned around and run away again. She was not running away from him but it felt like that when Mirko's heart stopped for a second and broke into pieces. Maybe it was a little bit exaggerated but it hurt that she left him alone again.
Mirko felt like a coward. Why didn't he stop her? Why didn't he just said that she could not go because he had prepared this perfect date. This one he was thinking about for a long time.
Disappointed he turned around and looked at the graffiti he had sprayed on the grey wall one year ago to tell Valeria that he was sorry for doing those mistakes. Perdonami.
Vale had not even seen where he had brought her. This place was their place. It was a place with thousand memories. And he did everything to make this evening perfect. On the stairs right next to the graffiti he had put a blanket and some food for a lovely pick-nick. And above the graffiti he had light some candles shining bright in the dark night. He did everything! He had also bought a little present. Only for Valeria. And she had not even seen it. Perfect! Perfect date!It was late when Mirko came home after he cleaned up the blanket and all the other stuff.
Carfully he entered the house and closed the door quietly. He knew that his dad would not like it if he came home that late so he did not want to wake him.
As quiet as he could Mirko did one step and another. But shortly before he could open the door to his room he stucked.
"Mirko?"
His dad's voice was cold and he knew that if he would turn around now he would look into to angry eyes. But he had no choice. There was nothing else he could do. So he turned back and hoped that his father would understand him.
"Hey, Papà...", Mirko said with a shy voice but it did not changed anything. His father was furious. He didn't show it that way other people show it. He stayed calm, but that was even more oppresive. Sometimes he remained Mirko of his teachers who were always standing in front of him with crossed arms and looked at him with this typical What-did-you-do-again-look. And that was creepy!
"Where have you been, Mirko?", his father asked hin with a strict sound. It was more than scary, but Mirko would not lie and he would not pretend his feelings. He was not scared of his father just because this could end in a fight.
So Mirko calmed down and got a little bit more relaxed: "I was out. Okay? With Valeria. Or not."
"Valeria? Really? Why do you meet Valeria again? I thought we talked about this?", Mirkos father said and rolled his eyes, "Mirko, didn't I tell you that you should look for a girl in your age? There are so many girls. For example Giulia!"
Giulia? Really? For real? He wanted Mirko to think about Giulia again after all she did? Giulia had new boyfriend. One of those bad boys. He was a real asshole and Mirko could not understand why she chose him. Even though Mirko and Giulia had not been perfect to be together, he wanted her to be happy. And with this boy he would never be happy. He would hurt her.
But anyway! Why did his father talked about Giulia after all what had happened? And he thought that his father liked Valeria.
"Giulia? No, Papà! And yes, maybe you told me that there are also other girls! But I don't want them! The only girl I want is Valeria! And do you remember what you have said too? You told me to fight and to give always everything!"
"Yes, maybe I told you that. But maybe it would be better if you would give everything in another sector. Like school."
Sure! Sure, he did the same he was doing everytime. Everytime their fights end with this annoying topic school. Because Mirko had not been good at school when he started all that with Valeria his father forced him to learn more the last year. And he really gave everything because he knew that it was important to his father.
"But I am giving everything at school and you know that!", Mirko replied a little bit helpless because he did not know what else to do. His father was stubborn: "No, because if you would give everything your grades would be better. Mirko, you have to be concentrated!"
"Papà!", Mirko screamed to got his father shut up, "Also you don't believe me, I really gave everything! For you! But that's the problem: I am doing this for you and not for me because school isn't important to me. I hate going to school and it's always hard for me to concentrate. That's the truth and for what I want to do in my future I don't even need this graduation! I would like to break up! But I am not because I don't want you to be worried."
After he said that he slammed the door of his room and throw all his stuff in a corner. Angry. He was angry! And disappointed. Of his dad and...Valeria. He would give everything to have her on his side. Right now.
