It was early in the morning when Valentina and I came home from a little party at a student's house. As friends...Yes, Mirko's call had destoyed my whole plan and I had been too nervous again to tell her what I feel for her the day when Mirko had got arrested. That's already some weeks ago. I think two...Or I am not sure. But any way I had not told her yet. And maybe that was the best because now we had have an amazing time again. As friends. And also this night on this party had been very cool. Everything's just so easy if you are friends. Everything's clear and simple. And I liked that.
Because her apartment was closer to the party we decided to sleep at her place. So I didn't have to take this long way home to my parents' house.
"This party was amazing!", Valentina said amazed when we entered the apartment, "And the music! Valeria would have danced the whole night!"
"Yes, I think too. She is adicted to parties and dancing."
"Sad that she didn't want to come with us."
Yes, that was way to sad. Valentina and I tried everything to make Valeria smile and happy again. We had invited her to the party, we had surprised her at work and we had also tried to do her favorite Argentian food. But nothing worked. She was sad as hell. Nothing could build her up again.
The break up between Mirko and her had destroyed her mood. There was no day she was not sad. And there was no day she smiled for real. This funny, enthusiastic and powerful girl I knew wasn't there anymore. And that just because she lost Mirko. I wished I could do something but I didn't know what. I had already tried to talk to Mirko. But it seemed like he was out of space. There was no chance to contact him and everytime I came zo visit him his father said that he would not be there. In a way I knew that Mirko was at home but his father was angry because he had been kicked out of school. So until the summer break Mirko would have to study or something like that. I was sure about that because his father was ambisious and strict when we were talking about school. I would love to know anything about Mirko. How he was doing and what did he want to do now because he had been kicked out of school. Would he look for another school to graduate? What would he do?
"Do you hear that?", Valenti suddenly asked me and looked at me with a crazy look, "There is music."
"You're right, but wait. It's..."
I took out my mobile and looked at the watch. It was way to late for loud music.
"It's 3 am."
First we were a little bit irritated but then Valentina seemed to have a clue: "Oh, I know exactly what's that about!"
"What do you mean?"
"Do you hear that song?"
I tried to identify the song and even if it took a bit of time, in the end I knew what she was talking about.
The song was Domani é un altro film by Dear Jack. And that's the favorite song of Vale. Because it was Mirko's and hers song.
"I think I have to talk to her. If she is listening to this song at 3 am she is not doing well."
That was right and I accepted Valentina's decision. So I went into the kitchen to let her talk to Valeria. Alone...But come on! Guys, I am Giovanni Talamo! And I know exactly what they were talking about. I know everything...
Carfully Valentina knocked at the door of Valeria's room and opened it when nobody reacted on her sign.
The room was way too messy for Valeria. Everything was lying anywhere. And ahe didn't care 'bout it? That wasn't Valeria. Okay, it was her. The woman sitting on the messy bed and crying was Valeria. But Valentina was shocked any way because Valeria had never behaved like that before.
"Vale?", Valentina said worried and and tried to talk louder than the music. But it didn't worked. Valeria stayed in her position with the head on her knees which were pulled towards her. Valentina hated it seeing Valeria that way. They were best friends and Valeria had made her happy again, everytima Valentina was sad or frustrated. Now it was Valentina's job to help her best friend.
"Valeria!", she repeated and walked across the room to turn the music down. Not off. Just down because she knew that Valeria felt better if music were playing in the background.
When Valeria realized this change she lifted up her head. Cried eyes. Swollen...Her make-up had flowed away. She looked...destroyed. Her appearance as well as her soul. Her heart.
"Sweety", Valentina whispered and sat down on Valeria's bed. She tried to hide her tears. Or maybe also her despair. All of her physical and mental state. But it didn't work. She could not pretend her feelings in front of her best friend.
"What happened?"
"Do you really ask me that? For real?"
Valeria was right. It did not make sense to ask that because it was obvious to see what happened. Mirko.
"I feel miserable, because I am missing him so much! It is worser than the time I was on tour", Valeria cried, "Because when I was on tour I knew that he was waiting for me. That Mirko and I were connected. That we were a couple and...Now everything has changed. He broke up and I am crying even though it was all my fault."
Valentina pulled her into a friendly hug and let her cry on her shoulder. They cared about nothing else in this moment. Just that Valeria didn't feel well and that she needed someone to talk to. It was the first time Valeria talked about that what happened and about her feelings. Valentina had already known that Mirko broke up with her but her best friend had never wanted to talk about anything. Up to now.
"What did you do?", Valentina asked carfully and broke the embrace to look at her again.
"The question is what did I not do...I called him a child again, I wasn't there for him when he needed me the most and...at the studios I told everyone he would be an admirer of mine. Just a fan! A young boy who is in love with me, because I was afraid to say that he is the most amazing boyfriend a girl could ever dream of...Vale, why am I that horrible?"
"You're not horrible."
"I am!"
"No, you were afraid. That's what made you seem to be horrible", Valentina explained, "Mirko and you have a big difference of years and that's strange for you. And I could swear that also Mirko isn't able to handle it."
Valeria started understanding what her best friends wanted to tell her. So she thought about it more detailed.
"Did you know that Mirko faught with a boy at school because he said something againt...me?"
"What? Really? Is that the reason why he was kicked out of school?"
Valeria just nodded and had to hold back some tears. That was also something she was the reason for. He had to leave the school. And it was her fault. Brava, Valeria!
"I am horrible!"
"No, you're afraid, Valeria! And that's normal. It isn't nice because Mirko felt like you don't love him. But the truth is that you are just scared because you don't know how the whole world would react if they know about you and Mirko. It isn't that relationship everybody accept and expact. But it is a relationship filled with love and that's the only thing that matters", Valentina said to build her up, "Love is the most important thing and you love him. Don't you?"
Valeria did not have to think about it. She knew exactly what she was feeling. She loved him. But Mirko didn't feel that.
"I do! But Mirko..."
"Yes, Mirko said that you don't! But if you love him you have to do everything to get him back! If you do it now, it is not too late, Vale!"
Valentina sounded like a motivation coach in that moment so Valeria had to laugh a little bit. She gave everything to motivate her and to get Mirko and Valeria back together even though she was against their relationship last year.
Now she realized that Mirko and Valeria were meant to be together. They loved eachother as much as nobody else did. Maybe it was a little bit exaggerated. But that did not matter now.
"But what should I do? He hates me", Valeria answered, "He doesn't answer my calls and messages. I can't..."
"No! Stop it, Vale! If you say I can't one more time I will throw you out of the window, girl!"
Okay, she talked true.
"You can! And I have the perfect idea how you can show him what you are feeling for him."
Valeria looked ar her irritated again. Her best friend was motivated as hell but Valeria didn't see any way to solve this problem.
"How?", she asked and Valentina started smiling brightly: "Giovanni!"
