"So I have to put this one on the other side?", Mirko asked Valeria when they were sitting on a bridge that crossed the Tevere. It was an amazing day. Again! Like everytime Valeria was on his side. A perfect day of summer!
They met to study for school. Like Valeria had promised when they had been in the Villa Borghese some days ago. She wanted to help him so he was able to understand this whole maths-stuff.
But Valeria was out of space. She did not listen to him. The whole time she was just looking on the pages of Mirko's book. Like she heard nothing of what he was saying.
"Valeria?"
She did not react until he nudged her a little bit and she looked up shocked: "What?"
"Where are you?"
That was a very good question. It seemed like she was in another world. Or on another planet. But it didn't matter. The fact was that she wasn't here. Next to him. Maybe in a physical way. But her thoughts had already flown away.
"Why? Where?", she asked irritated. The first time for today their eyes met. There was something that bothered her and Mirko wanted to know what: "What's wrong? It seems like you are somewhere else."
"No, why?"
"That's what I am asking you. I am talking to you and you...you are not listening", he explained disappointed because it felt like Valeria wasn't interested in Mirko and his future. His problems...Like that what she had said last sunday had just been some words. Empty and...a lie.
Valeria noticed that and knew that she had to give him some explainations: "Mirko, I am so sorry! But...this afternoon we have a really important rehearsal with the main protagonists of the movie. And..."
"And you are nervous", Mirko completed her sentence annoyed, "Like always..."
"What?"
Valeria was a little bit surprised by Mirko's behavior. She had never thought that he would be annoyed or bored by listening to her stories about the movie. She hoped that her boyfriend would respect her new job and accept that she was living her dream. Something she loved about him: Mirko respected her and her dreams. He supported her. Or not?
"Am I getting on your nerves?", Valeria asked a little bit shippy and crossed her arms in front of her chest. Maybe she wasn't able to concentrate today but he acted too childish now.
"No, Vale..."
"For real? I can go if you don't want me help you!"
Angrily she stood up and walked off the bridge. She couldn't believe that he was that stupid.

Mirko had not been about to make her sad or angry. Or to get on her nerves. And he knew he would be a coward if he let her go. He did not want to be called a coward. So he followed her as fast as he could.
"Valeria! Wait!"
When he reached her he grapped her hand and pulled her back.
"What?!"
She was more than testy. That was something he could see in her eyes. She was disappointed as well. And maybe Mirko deserved it.
"I am sorry. I didn't want to react like that", he explained looking into her eyes intensive, "I am just...tense, because at school it's not working and my father is angry. Even Daniel. Now the only one I have is you...And you have a lot of better things to do than giving me tuition. That sucks..."
Valeria was thankful for his honesty and his excuse. It meant a lot to her that he came after her to say sorry. And that he told the truth about what he was feeling. There was no way to be that angry anymore: "It's okay. And I am sorry too."
She made a step towards him and laid her hand on his chest to let his heart beat make her calm down.
"I overreacted. Totally! I can understand you. In a way...It must be hard with such a hectic girl on your side."
"Yes, sometimes it can be really hard", Mirko grinned and looked above her shoulder when he had the perfect idea to calm her down again.
"Come on! Let's go!"
"What?", Valeria asked but got no answer. He just took her hand and pulled her off the bridge right to some musicians sitting on the street to play some amazing music. They had just started the song so there weren't any people standing around them. Enough space for Mirko's plan.
"Mirko, what are you doing?"
"Can I have this dance?", Mirko asked and reavhed out for her hand. First Valeria has still been a little confused. But than she had to smile and laid her hand in his one. He always knew what she needed the most.
"With pleasure", Valeria answered.
That was something special about their relationship again. Last year it had been a little bit hard because there had been so much that went wrong. But they had earned a lot because of this. For example that they love eachother more than they had ever expected and that they cannot live without this love. That they have to be together because if not they would not be the same. And they had learned to forgive. To be brave and to take risk. Because without that they wouldn't be here now. Together.
Mirko had started dancing and surprised Valeria a lot. His moves were very good and he held her hand so gentle. Much different from the last time they danced.
"Wow, you're doing well!"
"I hope so. Because when you was on tour I had practise a lot. To impress you..."
In this moment Valeria was about to cry because of happiness. She felt more than overwhelmed.
Actually Mirko hated dancing. When she had met him the first time he had done everything not to be taken on the dance floor. And now he was the one taking her there. He was the one who led her. He directed the dance and he did very well.
"Maybe I am not perfect. Maybe I am too young, overbearing, annoying, stubborn and...disorganized. But I try everything to be perfect to you."
"You are", Valeria assure with a laughter because he acted very cute, "To me you already are."
And without waiting any longer she leaned in to bridge over the last gap between them. For a short kiss.
"Why that short?", Mirko asked upset.
"Because you wanted to dance", Valeria smirked and let him lead her again. They did not care about the people passing them. They did not care about everybody could see them. They did not care about anything. The only thing they were caring about was this moment. When they were on their own planet. Out of space. Where nobody was able to interrupt them.
