I took Dec to our spot. Yes, the library, History section to be specific. So far, since I start going here, I have never brought anyone here other than me. Dec was the first I shared this place with. We went over to our usual spot.

But Dec looked hesitant, as if remembering the last time we were there together. I pleaded, and Dec soon followed.

“Dec,” I started, “let me first say I’m truly sorry.” I soon as I let that out, tears start to fill my eyes. “I know you’re tired of people apologizing and making excuses, but please hear my heart out.”

Dec wasn’t fazed by what I said, he just sat there. He must have been through this situation plenty of times. My heart broke at the sudden realization. I couldn’t fight the tears anymore.

“Dec, I want you to know that…” I caught my breath between sobs, “I really do love you.” I cried again. Why do I keep crying? It is because I’m scared of my own feelings? Or it is because Dec is just sitting there doing nothing? I want to hold him. But I’m afraid he won’t do the same.

“Please Dec, listen to me. I’m promise you. I’m telling you the truth now. I really do love you. I don’t know since when, but it just happened…” I explained before I was interrupt.

“Why?” Dec finally said to me. He looked at me with tears in his eyes. I couldn’t blame him. It’s my fault for being afraid and stupid.

“Why?” I repeated the question. “That’s easy.” I smiled with tears flowing in my face. I leaned forward and said, “In your eyes, I see the best mate I am destined to have. In your eyes, I see the love we’ll share.” I let out a little giggle as tears fall to the fall, I sounded so silly. I couldn’t control what I was saying.

“Dec, in your eyes, is where I want to live forever. I want to spend the remaining days of my life with you.” As soon as I said that, Dec laughed. “How could you be laughing at a time like this?”  I asked as I held his shoulder with my hands.

“I’m sorry,” he let out his last laugh. “You sounded like you were proposing to me.” Dec says as he looked at me. He slowly moved his hand, and gently cupped my face wiping away tears.

I wiped his tears as well. “Dec,” I looked in his beautiful watery eyes, “is this talk as good as I think it is?” I asked. He was silent for a while. I waited for a response but got an entire different reply than I expected.

Dec leaned further forward and kissed me. I froze at the moment. I didn’t know what to do, so I did what naturally would happen. I closed my eyes. Then I felt it. Dec’s soft lips were on mine. The sensation was unlike anything I’ve ever known. There was love, kindness, and true about Dec kissing me. He ended the kiss and rested his forehead against mine (there’s plenty of spaces left).

I opened my eyes and I was greeted with Dec eyes looking at mine. It felt like the kiss happened for eternity, when in fact, it only happened over three seconds.

“I love you, Anth.” Dec said. I couldn’t help but smile.
“I love you too, Dec.” I gave Dec a kiss. “Come here you.” I turned Dec around so I was facing his back, and pulled him close to me. I gave Dec a warm hug from behind while we were sitting next to the shelves.

Dec was searching for my hand and found them. He places his fingers between mine. No other hands ever felt so perfectly fitted in mine.

“Dec.” I whispered.

“Yes, love?”

“Will you be mine?”

“I thought you’d never ask.” Dec said as he comfortably rested against me.

Days passed by quickly. Dec and I have been together since but hasn’t told anyone. I was still new to this relationship business and wasn’t ready to be out yet. Dec, of course, understood.

We would usually hang out in our spot. Read books, talked, slept and just simply spend our time there. Sometimes, we stayed in my apartment. Watched DVDs and fooled around.

It was finally our turn to present our report. We told the class about the types of lies. We also told about what goes on inside the person’s mind when they lie. Finally we reported about the signs when some is lying. We did our best and ended with a question, “Why lie?”

One of my classmates raised a hand. I called him to stand up. He said.”I have a question, are you two dating?” After he asked, some of our classmates cheered and teased. I laughed at the question. Then, I looked at Dec.

He just smiled at me, a very comforting smile. I guess he was saying it was up to me. I looked at the class and back at Dec. He blinked both of his eyes and giggled. Then I understood.

I smiled at my classmate. “We aren’t.” I answered with a wink.

The end.
