SAVANNAH POV
After getting tired of being cooped up in my apartment, I actually decided to get up and do something to enjoy my day off work.
Outside, I'm slowly walking on the sidewalk, letting the breeze move through my hair. The sun isn't making it unbearably hot like usual, and there a few puffy white clouds floating around. There are a few birds chirping as they fly above me, but other than that, it's been exceptionally quiet today.
Besides working or hanging out with Xiu and Alex, I've still been thinking about my future. Wondering where life will lead me, and if in five years I'll either be successful and have more money than I currently do or if I'll still be in my currently financial situation.
My wallet is sobbing because it hasn't been fed as much lately.
Will I be in college like Xiu, or will I follow Alex's path and settle down with someone I love?
Just thinking about the future is a bit daunting, so I shake the thoughts out of my mind, drowning them out with something else. I'm looking around, observing the California nature.
The leaves of the palm trees are gently swaying, and it's almost as if I can faintly hear waves crashing on the shore even though I'm far away from the beach. The vibrant flowers are still fresh looking, and each petal is in place.
Suddenly, the peaceful moment is ruined when I hear a horn honking. I look over, and I see Xiu sticking her head out of her car window.
"Hey!" Xiu shouts, and I smile.
"What's up?" I ask her.
"I'm so bored, come hang out with me!" Xiu implores.
"I was just gonna call you and ask if we could hang out." I say, and she chuckles.
"You don't need to ask, just get in the car!" Xiu exclaims, beckoning to me.
I jog towards the car, shutting the door once I'm in the passenger seat. I'm expecting Alex to be in the car as well, but she isn't here.
"Where's Alex?" I ask curiously.
"Couldn't make it. She's working with Rian's mother and Brendan right now on something pretty important. Plus, even if she wasn't working, something tells me that she'd be fucking Rian's brains out right now." Xiu informs me, making me cackle.
"What makes you say that?" I ask, even though it's pretty obvious why she said that.
"Oh, you know why. Man, before Rosie came around they were addicted to sex, but damn, they can barely keep their hands off each other now."
"I know right? I had went out to have sushi with them a while ago, and I nearly threw up. But hey, I'm glad that they're happy." I say.
"Man, I probably sound so bitter because I'm single, huh?" Xiu asks, smiling a little bit.
"Just a tad." I giggle, and she smacks my arm.
We drive along the highway, all of the windows are rolled down, and we sing our favorite songs at the top of our lungs, not caring if other drivers give us weird looks.
After a while, we get to a cute little restaurant that's crowded with people. Xiu and I sit together at a table, admiring the surroundings before trying to decide what to eat.
