ROYAL SORCERER FOR DAYS...

CHAPTER 8

The next morning, I woke up, went through my usual morning routine in the woods and set off deeper in to the woods on pearl to search for Alfred the saucerer.

On the way I noticed something! All the trees that I went past had a big 'X' burned on to it, it was black as coal and there was a trail of 'X's, and me being me decided to follow it and see what will happen. Now that I have spent days and days in the murmuring woods my curiosity to find this Alfred the saucerer has gone way past the red line, I was determined more than ever to find him because he is the reason that I am spending days alone in these woods and he is the reason why thousands of innocent people are dying from a deadly disease. I must find him and end this once and for all.

I kept following the trail of 'X's and found myself at the edge of a wide, blue lake. I saw another 'X' burned on to a tree which was across the lake, which meant that if I was to get to Alfred the saucerer I will have to cross this lake. I am guessing that this is a barrier from Alfred to stop me from getting near him. But I must find him and in order to do that I must cross the lake.

I was thinking of building a raft when I saw pearl do something really astonishing! Pearl was folding out a pair of gigantic, white wings. She had wings, pearl had wings! I could not believe my eyes! I guess pearl is not just a unicorn, pearl is a unicorn with wings! She really is an amazing creature! I love her, I love pearl.

Pearl is the way that I can get across this lake, the moment she saw the lake she had unfolded her pair of wings, she was such a clever animal!

I climbed on top of pearl with great enthusiasm, I held on tight to her as she took lift off, it was amazing! I was flying, we were flying, I was flying on a unicorn with wings!

I could see all the trees in the woods, they looked like little broccolis from up so high, and I could see the top of the castle, where his majesty Alexander lived!

Just as I was starting to enjoy flying, pearl headed downwards, and landed on the floor. The landing was so gentle that I didn't even feel a tiny bump! She really was an expert at flying! Me and pearl made it to the other side of the lake! We crossed the lake!

I hopped down from pearl only to see that the diamond in my bag was changing colour! Alex was calling me! I picked up the diamond and saw Alex staring at me with a worried expression on his face.

"Alex? Are you all right?" I asked him.

"me? Or I am all right! But I should be asking you that" he replied.

"why is that Alex?"

"I am so sorry, I couldn't pick up when you called me Kate, I hope you are not mad at me!"

"come on Alex! Why would I be mad at you for something like that? You know, I am not like that!"

"really, Kate? You are not mad at me? Oh, thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!"

"that's all right, Alex"

"okay, Kate! So, tell me, how are you progressing so far?"

"oh, I think I am progressing pretty well" and so I told him everything that had happened during the past 2 days and what I have just encountered and achieved! He was really pleased to hear about everything.

"all righty then, Kate. I will talk to you later and sorry again for not picking up" he said and with that he was gone.

I decided to rest here for a while before setting off, it was very hot because the sun was high in the sky as it was midday and I ate the left over berries from yesterday for lunch. I gave pearl the last bit of water before filling the drink bottle again with magic. I shut my eyes for a while before dozing off.

I woke up to find myself bathed in moon light, I had fallen asleep and it was night time! I tried to go back to sleep but I was not tired or sleepy, I couldn't keep going as it was night time. I mean who knows what might be in here!

so, I decided to just stay here till the sun comes back up.
