Red's Role

"He's a promising kid, energetic, kind..." Red told the legendary pokemon in front of him. "I assure you he will become a great champion."

Lugia looked down to the trainer, the champion of Kanto. "Are you sure he is the chosen one?" The psychic pokemon asked. "You have never even met this child."

"No, but I've been watching him," Red said. "From what I heard, your partner even let himself to be captured by this trainer. And so as the beast Trio. He still have Suicine to go though."

"I see. If that's the case then, Champion of Kanto, why did you appear before me?" Lugia asked.

"Just to give you a warning," the raven said as he pulled down his cap. "Though I love to see how bright this boy is, I am sure that will all change once he became the Champion of Johto. Right now, he is battling the last gym in Kanto as we speak."

It had been a year since he had became the Champion of Kanto. Forced to stay away from his own family and friends, he had lived in a cave on Mount. Silver. Unfortunately enough, there would be another one coming up. And the impact on the kid would probably be greater than his.

"If this boy can defeat the League Champion of Kanto then he will qualify to be the champion of Johto, won't he?" The red eyed teen asked the legendary.

"He can only qualify to be the champion of this region if he can defeat another champion," Lugia boomed.

The Kanto Champion raised a brow. "Isn't that a bit too selfish?"

"The Attribute for the champion of Johto is dangerous, even though the boy has a good heart, will he be powerful enough to take responsibility over the attribute of Time?"

Red's eyes widen. "The champion of Johto's attribute is Time?"

"To use it as he please," the water pokemon told. "There are six legendaries in the Johto region. To become a champion, he has to have our approval. Like the other champions, he can destroy the world, something we legendaries try to prevent."

Red nodded in understanding and agreed with the legendary's terms. Something like this couldn't be prevented, he had to help Ethan Hibiki become the Champion of Johto. If he didn't, then there would be loophole in the world's function. Curse him? Nah, curse fate for forcing him to do this.

"This boy..." Red then said before leaving. "He is already in love with someone."

"How is it different from you?" Lugia asked.

"Green and I had never came closer as we are before, we only grew apart. Ethan 'Gold' Hibiki, however, is madly in love with his own rival and they already become an item. After he becomes the Champion of Johto, he has to leave his rival behind or else... he is killing himself."

That was when Lugia was assigned to be responsible of Gold's well being.

Rivals, Friends or Boyfriend?

Wally observed Silver, who was easily distracted by Ethan Hibiki, otherwise known as Gold, the Champion of Johto. Since the very beginning the red head had his eyes on the golden eyed boy. He had seen it, there was something going on between those two, they were more than rivals but not as close as friends either.
