Chapter 13
For The Sake of Love
For The Sake of LifeIt took around three minutes to make Green realise that Wally wasn't as dense as his appearance made him to be. Still innocent (maybe) but for a person like Wally to make the same mistake as him was a bit too unexpected.
"A friend of mine and Ruby's said that Ruby was actually gullible enough to believe it, even when it was horrible acting," Wally told, bringing his legs against his chest. "And I guess it worked too well. May and I were just doing it as practice but Ruby actually got curious and eavesdropped in our practice session."
Green blinked. "And that's why...?"
"And that's why I wanted to see him again, to tell him the truth. But for now, it's impossible..." Wally briefly explained. "Not when all of them are against us."
That didn't occur to Green before. All of the Champions hated their guts but for what reason? It was clear now about his and Wally's situation but what about the other three? But the real question was, do the Champions hated them in the first place?
Green placed his hand around his chin, going through all the facts he had in mind. From what he knew, the chances of the Champions hating them were really high, or at least it was in Red's case. For Ruby, however, it seemed too unlikely but what did he know? If there was anyone who could decide that it should be Wally.
Green groaned, as he thought about Red. Gahh, that too adorable of a man was going to be the death of him. If Red was in a way the same as him then he should be the one who lead and protected the Regional Champions. Since long ago, Red always had that overprotective maman side to him so it was befitting.
Off to the main point, it didn't matter if Red were to only hate him, if he welcomes the other League Champions then he was one step further to repairing all this mess the League Champions brought to their respective rivals.
From the corner of his eye, Green saw something glowing. It wasn't long until Green actually realise the warmth on his pinky from what seemed to be a green string.
"WHAT THE FU-!" Green jumped from the bed, alerting Wally who apparently could see the same thing.
"Green?!"
"DON'T LOOK AT ME LIKE THAT! DO YOU THINK I KNOW WHAT'S GOING ON HERE?!"
Green wagged his arm, coiling the green string around his arm.
"WHAT THE HELL IS THIS?!" he yelled in panic.
"Green try to calm down!"
"HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO CALM DOWN?! THIS THING FEELS WARM AND FLUFFY LIKE RED THAT MAKES YOUR HEART ALL DOKI-DOKI KYUN-KYUN INSIDE!"
That was when Wally learned that Green was really honest when he was in the state of panicking. After a while, Wally blinked twice and then thrice. Green was confused by the second year's actions bit nonetheless, panicking still seemed so appropriate from where they were standing with a mysterious string tied to his finger.
"Huh? It's gone?" The green haired boy questioned himself.
"What do you mean it's gone?! It's right here!" Green shouted, pointing at the string still tied to his finger.
"I'm serious! I can't see it anymore!"
"Goddamit! I need to get this thing off me!"
With useless effort; Green pulled the string trying to latch it off or even cut it in some way. It only resulted him to look like he was pulled by some invisible force that made him fall down on the bed and screeching in pain. Some tears were there too.
