Day & Night

I push past two kids inhaling each others faces and scowl. Shouldn't they be studying? I make my way to my lock and began lock when someone puts their hands over my eyes.

"Declan, I will cut you, no joke."

"You know you love me!" He leans on the locker next to mine and winks.

"Only because I have too." I grumbled.

"How did Moonlight go?" He looks at me with disappointment in his brown eyes and puts his hands in the pockets of his gray skinny jeans. I didn't tell him I was going because he would want to go with me.

"I'm sorry, you just won't fit in over there, I barely do! Declan just trust me on this."

"Okay, just don't lie to me again"

I get home and throw my keys on the counter to see the note my mom left me:

Night Shift, food in fridge.

Love you, Mom.

The food was spaghetti, I put it back in the fridge and decided to eat later. As I sit on the couch my phone vibrates in my pocket.

I waited a couple minutes and decided he wasn't going to answer so I pulled out my headphones and started listening to Day n' Night and took a nap.

"Finn!"

I jumped off the couch and began to look at the person who woke me up. Red Vans, skinny jeans , and a white V-neck that's all I needed."

"You scared the shit out off me, Declan!"

"Well we are already late for school, so it doesn't even matter now!"

"What time is it?"

"Two."

"Ughhhh"

Declan"Well in a few hours, were going to see a concert. A new kid is playing at Relief and I heard he is pretty good."

Relief is a hangout for aspiring musicians and people who just like to hang and listen to all kinds of music. I know the owner, she's a awesome person, who has so many stories.

Me:"Fine."

"Finny!"

"Hey Ellen! Long time no see." We hugged each other then she hugged Declan and gave him a kiss on the cheek. Ellen was the owner of Relief.

Ellen:"Well go inside! Make sure to introduce yourself to Jacey the new kid, he is a cutie."

Me:Okay, Ellen." Declan and I share a smile when we walk inside.

The crowd sways to the melody of the song. Everyone was right this kid is good at singing and he definitely is a cutie. With blond hair and blue eyes, all the girls are most likely drooling.

When Jacey got done with his set, I started walking toward him.

"Hi, you're really great, I'm Finnley."

"Jacey Daniels, but call me Jace."

"So what got you interested in music?"

"Actually, my friend got me into music, he should have been here tonight."

Me:'' Cool! Are you from here?"

Jacey:"I'm from a little town called Moonlight, ever heard of it?"

Me:''I used to live there! Wow small world!"

Jacey:"Maybe we can meet up some time-"

At that time Declan put his arm around my shoulder and pulled me away to go home. All in all it was a cool night.
