Alain Grayson.

Sitting in the courtroom, all I could think about was the reunion. Going back there after five years takes guts, I'll never know how Ashley or my sister or any of the other girls, are okay with this. They pretend they moved on and forgave her, but at the mention of her name, I know what goes on through their minds. It wasn't easy for any of us, I imagine it was a million times harder for them.

I still remember all the nights I had to wake up to my screaming wife and hold her until she calmed. The nightmares I had to see her go through, tell me about, and relive. All those times when she had to cover up the scar on her stomach when we went to the beach. We worked hard to put it all behind us, I'm afraid all those hard work will go to waste if we go back.

"Mr. Grayson? Mr. Grayson? Alain!" My client snapped me back to reality.

"Yes? Roger." I said.

"Are you alright?" I nodded. "Are you sure? Do you need coffee? Anything? You seem tired."

"No no I'm okay, calm down. I got this okay? I promise I'll get your kids back to you."

He smiled nervously and nodded his head.

A few minutes later the judge walked in and and later on we began the case.

"Your honor my client has suffered enough, his kids are starving everyday because their mother is neglecting to feed them. Lyla, who is 8 and Thomas who is 3. These kids need their father, their mother who is an alcoholic a drug addict allows his boyfriend into their home, into their kid's lives, this man who is known to be a dealer, and carries a gun around these children."

"Objection your honor." The prosecutor said.

"Overruled. Continue Mr. Grayson." The judge said.

And just when I was about to continue my case, the doors to the courtroom opened and revealed a smirking Ashley. She smiled at me with a nod and showed me a file she was holding.

"Mr. Grayson." The judge warned.

"I'm sorry your honor." I gestured for my wife to come forward. She ran up to me and gave me the file.

"This is proof that the boyfriend had tons of cocaine hidden in his car when he and the mother were driving around, drunk and high with the children in the backseat. The police stopped them and tested them but he shot the cop and they ran away." Ashley whispered.

"Your honor I have just received evidence that Mr. Drake was in the possession of drugs and an unlicensed weapon."

The judge reviewed the evidence and shortly after, the jury came up with a decision, I won the case and my client got full custody of his kids.

"You kicked ass." Ashley said and kissed me after I walked outside.

"I know." I smiled.

"What happened?"

"The mother has to go to rehab and then some time in jail on several accounts, and the boyfriend is sentenced for 10 years or more, for possession of illegal weapons and drugs. And Roger has his kids back." And as I said that the social worker brought his kids and they run up to him.

"Daddy!"

"I missed you so much." Roger hugged his daughter then took his 3 year old son from the social worker's arms.

"Looks like a happy ending." She said.

"All's fair in love and war." I said.

"Alain." Roger walked up to me. "Thank you so much. Both of you, thank you." He hugged us.

"You're most welcome, congratulations." We both said and he left with a smile and his kids.

"So, now that this is over, ready to face the big case?" Ashley asked.

"Let's go to a reunion."
