It was finally November, and everything was starting to freeze over. Quidditch had also started, and Harry's first game would be soon. I was very excited for him!Harry wasn't around much, he was mainly practicing, so I hung around Fred and George, or Leda.
Whenever Harry was around, he was getting into constant trouble. Mainly with Snape, I could almost swear the teacher had it out for him.
Soon enough, the first Quidditch game came and was gone. Harry did amazingly, and I supported him the whole way through. I was extremely worried for him, and went to help Hermione and Ron stop whatever magic was causing him to move up and down. We went to stop Snape, but my gut said it wasn't him. However, I was proven wrong once Hermione set Snape ablaze.
We soon met with Hagrid and learned of the three headed dogs name, Fluffy. I payed little attention to what was happening once again.
Time flew by, and it was soon christmas. I had always loved christmas, especially with my family. Although, I decided to stay at Hogwarts and not go home. All for the sole purpose of Harry Potter, who would not be going home for his own safety, as him homelife seemed like a gigantic mess.
I also stayed for Hermione's sake. She was hellbent on the idea that Ron and Harry would get themselves into some sort of trouble, if it were just the two of them.
Today was the day I had to say a heartfelt goodbye to Hermione and Leda, too. "I really don't want to say goodbye! I'll miss seeing your know it all face everyday, Hermione!" I gave her a tight squeeze.
"Keep an eye on the two for me. Im relying on you. I'll be sure to send owls!" We let go, and she left to get onto the train.
"Leda, I'm going to have a blaring headache without you here to keep an eye on Ron and Harry," I roll my eyes, earning a giggle from the Slytherin girl.
"I'd make sure to go to Madame Pomfrey for the mental wounds of being stuck alone with them!" I burst out laughing at her comment, and the wrap my arms around her.
"Come back soon for me, yeah?"
"Of course. Don't go off getting into too much trouble now. Be sure to practice your Sign Language while I'm gone!" I swore to her that I would, and she too, left me. I was now out in the snow with very little students, and a practically deserted school.
Most Ravenclaw's went home, and I was left to a dorm all to myself. "(Y/n)!" Hearing my name soon brought me out of my thoughts. I hummed in response to the person calling my name. It was Potter. "Let's get inside, it's overbearingly cold out!" I ran in next to him.
As christmas was now on it's way, and hogwarts seemed deserted. I found myself spending most of my time with the Weasley twins.
It was all fun and games with the two, concocting schemes that rarely got us into trouble. Enchanting snowballs and having them be thrown at Professor Quirrell was one of my favorites. I enjoyed spending time with the two when I could, but I was constantly checking up on Ron and Harry, yet they always seemed to sucked into wizarding chess to care.
That, and reading on who Nicolas Flamel was, or is. Sadly, we found nothing, except strained eyes and tired minds.
"Hey, Harry," his head popped up from his reading position, "you excited for christmas?"
"Yea," he seemed calm, not at all how most people were on the holiday. "It's just, I'm not expecting much, since my family gave all the presents to Dudley, and I would get nothing."
"Well, you've got a new family now. And that's us! Right Ron?"
"What? Oh, yes. We're here for you Harry!"
"Thank you guys. I think it's time we be off, it's getting late." Harry rubbed his eyes, and stood up. Ron stood too, and offered me a hand, pulling me up. I said goodnight to the two and headed off to the Ravenclaw common room.
Upon arrival, I greeted the two others who stayed for christmas.
With a quick hello, I rushed off into my bed, where I was met by Misty, who curled up by my side while I laid down. I shut my eyes, and tried to sleep. However, it was tough, as anticipation for the next day made me think of all the possible things that may happen.
My eyes shot open, it was early, but I rushed down to the common room and grabbed the gifts I left for my friends. Some even had my name, so I opened them.
'Dear my lovely (Y/n),
I know I'm not around, but I wanted to give this to you. It was given to me from my family, and now it's yours.
I love you,
Mom.'I opened the small box, and inside was a ring. The ring was a beautiful golden ring, with a large diamond inside. The gold was encrusted with small, old designs. It was perfectly clean too.
The next gift was from my father. There was a note attached to it.
'(Y/n), as sad as I, and the family, are to not have you this year, we all sent our gifts. This one is mine! I love you baby girl!'
I ripped open the box, and inside I found a pair of earrings, silver and blue, Ravenclaw colours.
I continued opening my gifts from all my family, until I was left with an abundance of clothing, shoes, and magical gadgets. I would be writing letters all day, thanking my family.
Before I started, I promised myself to go meet with Ron and Harry. I got up from my spot on the floor, gifts in hand, and left for the Gryffindor common room, adorn with my new ring and earrings.
