I looked at the handwriting and it was a perfect match to my mothers. What was she doing down here? What was in this book?

I flipped through the pages, but it was all in ancient script that I could not recognise. In the margins of the books, there were notes in english, one was in my mother's handwriting and the other matched that of "M." I read over each and every note to try and grasp what the pages said, but most of it was impossible.

I gathered that the book was about learning, casting, and creating ancient spells. As I got to the end of the books, a note fell out. It read:

After my findings, I believe I can conclude that the art of ancient magic is not lost, simply forgotten. Perhaps I will be able to bring it back, it can only make the magical world stronger.

-M

The fire grew dim, and I figured it was time for me to leave. I shrunk the book and hid it in my robe, then went back to find Ron. It seems I got here before Harry, and before Ron had left.

"Could you help me get out of here? Lockharts fast asleep, and I need help moving these rocks."

"Yea, for sure." We began digging at the rocks. "How long has it been?"

"No idea. I haven't been keeping track of time, just waiting impatiently. What did you find?" We managed to move a rock and the entire wall came crumbling down. We had a way out, at least.

"Nothing, really. Just dead end after dead end. Hopefully Harry had more success--"

Both of us turned our heads to the sound of footsteps. "Ron!" It was Harry! His footsteps increased dramatically, and he reached us. "I've got Ginny!"

Ron immediately began sprinting over to his sister. He threw his arms around her and embraced her in a giant hug.

I walked over to where everyone was and gave Ginny a squeeze before Ron continued his hug. I stood beside Harry and asked him how he found her.

He then went on to say it was a bit complicated, and that he'd tell me once we were out of here, but as of now he just wanted to leave this place.

Ron quickly questioned Harry about the Phoenix and sword. There was going to be a lot of explaining once we got out of this rancid place.

It took all of us to get out. Ron, Harry, and I had to help Ginny and Lockhart walk. Ginny appeared to be weak, but Lockhart kept tripping over his own feet. It was a long walk up the chamber.

Once we got out, we were greeted by Myrtle, surprised that we were alive. None of us knew where to go next, but Fawkes did. We followed him until we reached McGonagall's office. Harry knocked, and as soon as it opened a loud "Ginny!" could be heard. Mrs. Weasley?

Beyond Mrs. Weasley was Dumbledore and McGonagall. There was much happening around me, but the world felt silent. I watched as the Weasley's reconnected in joy, as Harry gave his findings to the Professor, and as Harry explained what happened.

Riddle was Voldemort. That was the most of which I could process from his story. I felt the book shift in my pocket, a faint chill shifting up my back. What did Voldemort want with ancient magic? Could he even read it? Only more question arose.

"You know, Minerva," Dumbledore broke me from my thoughts. "I think this merits a good feast. Might I ask you to alert the kitchen?"

"Certainly. I'll leave you to deal with these three, shall I?"

I watched as she left. I turned and faced the Headmaster, glancing off at Harry and Ron for comfort.

"I remember tell you three that I would have you expelled if you broke any more rules." I became tense. "Which goes to show that even the best of us must sometimes eat our words." I let out a sigh of relief. "You three will receive special awards for service to the school and..." he thought for a moment, "200 points apiece for your bravery and clever thinking."

I felt a huge burden lifted off my shoulders. I looked over to Ron and Harry and noticed that they were each ecstatic. Dumbledore continued.

"One of us seems awfully quiet about his adventures, Gilderoy?"

I paled. How in the world were we going to explain that we erased his memory? Luckily, I didn't need to speak. Ron took action, spoke quite calmly about it too.

"Would you two mind taking Professor Lockhart to the infirmary? I'd like to have a word with Harry. (Y/n), please come back once your done."

Ron and I did as told. Once we dropped off Lockhart, Ron began walking back to the Gryffindor common room. I walked with him.

"What do you think the Headmaster wants with you?" We stood at Gryffindors entrance.

"No idea. The only way to find out is if I go there and speak to him. You should go see your sister and your mother. It's been a rough day."

"Yea, you're right."

"I'll find you after."

I went on my way, and once I reached the Professor's door, I knocked. I was greeted by a kind, smiling Dumbledore.

"Please, follow me to my office." We walked in silence. Once in his room, he sat me down. "I believe you found something in that chamber that you were not expecting. Am I correct?" I solely nodded. "Your mother was a lot like you when she was a student."

"You knew my mother?"

"Yes, she was quite the brilliant witch. She taught herself most of our curriculum, then went on and learned beyond what we taught her. Now, about what you found in the chamber. Your mother carved her name into the entrance, is that correct?"

He didn't know about the library, did he? "Yes, sir."

"I remember catching her opening the chamber long ago. Surprisingly, nothing ever happened when she had done it. Now, I'd like to ask you, what did you find?"

"I'm sorry to disappoint you, Professor, but I found a maze of a chamber and dead ends. My adventure was nowhere near as exciting as Harry's."

"That's too bad. I always wondered what your mother was doing down there. I stopped her in her fifth year, forbid her from exploring any further. Which is why I've called you here. I know that you wish to know more about you mother, but opening the chamber is dangerous and I prohibit you from going back down. Do you understand?"

"Yes, sir." I lied. I was going to find out more.

"Very well. Now, why don't you go and enjoy the feast!"

I went, and I found Harry and Ron. I lost my appetite, so I barely ate anything. It was nice, though, to be surrounded by my friends. Draco came and found me for a bit, told me how stupid he thought I was for endangering myself.

The term went on. Class continued to bore me, and I did more special classes with other professors. It wasn't until the end of the year that I got the courage to ask Harry to teach me to open the chamber.

He questioned me about it. I told him that I found something of my mothers, and that I needed to find more. He saw no harm in it, as the Basilisk was dead and Riddle was gone. He made me promise to show him one day next year. I told him I would. I hope that he'll forget my promise.

The year ended, and the train ride to the station consisted of me planning out my summer. Summer has barely begun, but I already want it to end so I can go back to school and learn more about my mother. Until then, I would get to hang out with Draco, if our parents said yes, of course.

A/n: I know this is a bit anticlimactic, but in all honesty, the end of chamber of secrets was boring. Year two is finally over! More questions arise, and what will happen over summer? I'd love to hear ideas!
