Chapter 10

"My names Sean, but my friends call me Jack."

Ring ring ring.

What's that?

The alarm.

"Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck." I dragged out the word as I smashed my fist into the top of my clock. It's morning, time for the pain that is life to begin yet again. I sat up wearing only a baggy t-shirt and super comfortable boxer-like underwear. My eyes were droopy and my hair was knotted when something popped into my head, I get to give that Jack kid a tour today. I sighed as I fell back into my bed, I'm tired of people and I haven't even gotten up. Wiping my eyes I stood up quickly, so quickly that I got lightheaded and couldn't see for a second. I blinked multiple times before I could see again, then left my room to go to the bathroom.

Teeth and hair brushed, I looked in the mirror. Terrible was the first word that popped into my head. 'Common' my voice said 'at least try today! You're giving a new guy a tour'.

How is it that the voice in my head is more positive than I am? I decided to give in. You can make me try but you can't make me like it.

I was a block away from my school, I could see it. I really didn't want to go today but I tried so much that there is no going back now. I wore a shirt and pants and shoes and makeup... I don't like wearing makeup often. I wasn't even using my backpack, I wore an old purse, bag thing that my mom owned. They better not soak this.

If they do, someone's gonna die.

I was only in the parking lot of the school and I could already feel everyone staring burning holes through me. Better get this day over with.

"Miss Y/n L/n, would you please come to the office, miss Y/n L/n would you please come to the office. Thank you."

Thank you speaker for announcing to everyone that I must leave. I grabbed my things and left first period, no one asked anything because they didn't care and Mark wasn't there.

I stood outside of the office just looking at the door. Did I really want to go in? No one was around I could just leave. I could disappear. This wouldn't have to be my life. I could take my money and run away. No one would realize. No one would care. I could move. Make a new life, where this would just be a bad dream. Live on my own. I could be an unknown person. Moving city to city. Disappearing every time I got too close. I would be known but not found. I could be happy.

The door opened. "Oh Y/n you're here." The office lady said.

Next time.

I walked in to the office seeing Jack, he looked at me and smiled. I didn't feel like smiling but I did, to be kind.

"So Y/n," the office lady started "Sean," she gestured to Sean "told me he knew you, and that you were going to give him a tour." I quickly flashed my gaze to Sean... Jack.... Whatever his name was.

"Yes." I replied.

"Okay, and you could do it now?" She asked. Duh, that's why I'm here isn't it?

"Yes."

"Well Sean, you have your schedule is that right?"

"Nope." He said so bluntly.

"Oh, my mistake let me go print that out for you right now. I'll be right back." The office lady left into a back room of this office leaving Jack and I alone. I stood there waiting for her too get back but Jack wanted to talk.

"You look nice." He smiled.

"Thanks." I really didn't care how I looked. If he thought I looked pleasing, good for him. A question then popped into my head. "What should I call you?" I asked.

"What?"

"You said your names Sean, but people call you Jack so...?"

"Either ones fine." He smiled again.

There was something about his smile. It kind of reminded me of Mark's. I wonder where Mark is. I'm glad he isn't here to bother me. He's probably fucking some girl in the bathroom. I gaged at that thought, he is disgusting why would someone let him do that?

"So Y/n, you have a boyfriend?" My eyebrows raised, is he thinking about asking me out? We met like yesterday. If I tell him the truth will he ask me out? If I lie will it matter? This reminds me of Mark. That is definitely not a good thing.

"Well-"

"Here we are!" The office lady came back into the room with a piece of paper in her hand. "Sorry about that Sean." She handed him the paper. "Now Y/n he just need to know his classes." She pointed to the paper. "So take him around, tell him the rules, show him the classes but don't interrupt the classes. Okay and try to be done by the end of the period."

"Okay." I said before Jack and I left the office. I closed the door behind us. "Hand me the paper." I put my hand out. He gave me the paper and I looked at his first class. I laughed. "First period is science with Mr.Gee in room 110."

"What's funny about that?"

"That's my first period too." I started walking down the hall. "Common. Also why didn't you just come to school two days ago? You could've come to the freshman thing where you walk around the school to see your classes. And why weren't you at school yesterday?" I asked multiple questions at one time but still expected him to answer all of them.

"I was moving in yesterday, no time for school. And two days ago was when I got here so after a long trip I didn't feel like doing much." Wow, he answered them all, good for him. "Now I have a question for you."

"Go for it."

"Do you have a boyfriend?" Should I lie?

"Well..."
